Acros make me smile again

As some of you may know, my tank has had its ups and downs. From red bugs early on, to AEFW more recently, to the fact that I like to keep WAY too many fish in my tank.

Well, I treated all the pests (including the AEFW battle which left me with barely 25% of my original acros :( ). And I have a great balance of vodka dosing and overloaded fish stock. And I've weeded through most of the acros, determining which do well in high nutrient systems, and which look like butt :D

Here are the results. The good, the bad, and the ugly. First, the good:

Oregon Tort from Eric at Fragfarmer. Lived through it all (euphyllia, sinularia, levimasol, TMPCC, etc etc):

ORA german blue polyp green. Also lived through all sorts of mistreatment:

A gomezi that has become my coco worm cement :) It's been an amazingly resilient acro for me.

Some newer pieces. An unknown with a neat blue "glow" to the skin:

A lokani from Kevin on Diver's Den. Not as solid purple as when I first got it, but still pretty

Some of the just so so, waiting to see what happens:

A neat thick branch acro:

A large colony that I've had for over two years. Just never regained its color after the AEFW adventure:

I'm glad to see you posting here again Peter. Its a rough rough road back and many of the corals never look the same. I still have a couple in the frag tank that I am always hoping they will come back, but over time, I keep ditching them one by one.

Your stuff looks really happy and its good to hear that people have fought the good fight and finish out on the other side.

And the ugly, because I'm not ashamed to admit that not everything works in my tank :D

A gorgeous cerealis from Kevin/DD (the nasuta is even more brown, if that's possible :eek2: ):

Another green/purple combo acro....

Very nice pics. It must be nice to know that you now have a collection of robust and beautiful acros. As far as corals, I always love the loyal ones that survive the ups and downs the most.

Thanks for the kind words folks!

Sweet tank! I cannot believe that gomezi made it... I had a hard time keeping one in optimal conditions.... NICEL DONE!!!

Peter what's even more amazing is that the Turaki made it!

Can't keep that sucker alive for ever and ever and ever LOL.

Great JOB!

Way to persevere!! Coral shots look great as well:thumbsup: I've taken my share of losses since starting up again and the little successes I am starting to see again are inspiring. Stony corals require good husbandry and a little Lady Luck:)

sdguy...lookin great! i've also had bad luck with turakis? watch out for those poci's...i've seen them bud off and get outta control :(.

Lookin good Peter! I love the red table.Swing by and I'll give you a peice of my nasuta. I owe ya.

Your tank looks great to me!!! Ilike that redish acro that I think you said you got from Dr.Mac? That one's REALLY nice....

I know how you feel.........all the hard work and months of frustration all melts away during those two or three weeks before they make you mad again ehhh?
