Am I alone or there are people who don't like GEM tang too?

The way you described your experience with the gem tang reminded me of how I feel about Gigantea carpet anemones. Always worrying about sneezing the wrong way for them not to die and re-arranging the tank to accommodate them. After switching to a bubble tip and a Magnifica, I feel more at peace and enjoy the hobby more. I know it's like comparing apples to oranges but the feeling is exactly the same. I am sure others can relate too in different ways.
Man I'm in trouble......I have a Gem, Gigantea and haddoni....along with some others.

No wonder my wife says I'm crazy between apex fusion and my live video feed [emoji6]

I don't hate it, however fish like achilles, naso, powder brown, sohal, etc tangs all beat it.

If it were a cheaper fish, I would probably buy one though.

Yeah I would be. But I can't even get my apex to stay online so.....

I'm not even smart enough for a Apex or Profilux, I have DA that I can barely use. It's hooked to the Internet but I couldn't tell you how to access anything. Dropcam pro or Nest cam as it is now has a app and is easy to setup

Just ordered A gem tang for $1850 will be here Thursday can't wait!!! Haters gonna hate. Will update pictures Friday morning! So excited literally the most excited I've been for a fish ever and that's all that matters. I feel like a kid going to Disney world!

Nice, where did you get the Gem from? Lowest price I have seen on one not at wholesale in quite some time

Gem tangs for sale

I've been searching for a good price for the last week the reef corner.com has one for 1899 and picturesque aquatics has one for 1950 but I got mine from a lfs in Cleveland Ohio called aquatic technology. I'm friends with the owner so he only made 100 bucks off it plus it's 2.5 inches which is a plus. Zoa collector has a one inch black tang that's I'm looking at right now also for 450!

Thanks! Ive wanted a Gem tang for the last 5 years. I'm finally in a position at work where I can afford one! Do you think if I put a gem tang that's 2.5 inches and a black tang that's 1inch at the same time they will fight? I'll have them in a 125g and plan on feeding them tons of algae sheets..I know some people will say why risk it...But I think it would be awesome to have both these fish swimming together. I've had really good luck with a purple tang and a blue yellow belly tang, But I know they're not the same species and zebras are the most aggressive i still want to try. I mean I could always take one out and put one in my 75g if they are not getting along... What do you guys think?

I would advise against putting any fish that you cannot afford to loose with Gigantea and/or Haddoni. If this is what you are doing then you will be in trouble indeed.

If those are your only two tangs in there then yes. If there are existing then you might want to take others out.

I had a year long established, 4" Black tang in my 325g. I then has the oppurtunity to get a 3" gem at a steal. So I got it and put it in QT. Getting my black and fowleri out of an 11' tank was going to be next to impossible without teardown. So once the gem was nice and fat and through PP treatment i bar academe one 2' section of my tank with egg crate and set the Gem in the tank. There was a day of displaying for the day or two then nothing. So I let him out near lights out. A lil chasing and displaying for a couple hours but no real fights. After morning, they were best buds. To this day they are fine with each other. They squabble every so often but never anything major. More like buddies arm punching each other. It's been 18momths now.
