Anchoring Macro?

Hello:

Does macro algae need to be anchored in the base of the refuge or does it float free?

Im wondering that same thing - Mine is currently floating free.

Kind of depends on the species...some will anchor themselves such as most Caulerpas while others like Ulva and Chaetomorpha do not. Even the Caulerpas do not have true "root" systems so do not need to be anchored in ordered to grow. HTH
