Any tips for a beach trip? :)

Hi all!

We're going to the beach for the first time (been married 2 years ) with a fellow reefer on Thursday. I'll be taking my D50 along and I was wondering if anyone had any tips?

More than anything I'm worried about the stinking mist that always covers my glasses like crazy when I'm on the beach. I'm assuming a microfiber cloth and/or a little alcohol will be necessary.

Any thoughts?

I have my camera at the beach all the time. Just give the lens and body a good scrub down afterwards.

lens filter might be helpful.

I've got a UV filter on it, so that'll help keep the lens clean. Although I'll have to clean the filter just the same.

Try using black and white, IMO beach shots come out the best with B&W but I suppose that depends on what you like.

Use sunscreen (on you, not the camera).

Take a lot of photos!

These are from Myrtle Beach, SC a couple of weeks ago.

You will get saltspray on your equipment. Just keep a dry cloth handy to wipe it off.

I notice you fly RC planes... wouldn't happen to want to buy any, would ya? lol I'm trying to go electric (my apartment isn't well suited to 70" nitros).

Oh, and BTW, the trip was great. I guess I could post a couple of pics. I'll just post a few of my favorites.

This one just turned out cool. We stayed inside the Disney gates at the Wyndham there. This was a bus going by. I think that "Downtown Disney" sign was just blinking.

I need to change that to "used to fly RC planes" I love to do it but just don't have the time it takes to stay involved in the hobby. Especially with 2 reef tanks, photography, motorcycling, etc.

If you have some nice stuff to sell, shoot me a pm. I still have buddies in the hobby that might be interested.
