Anyone tried the Coralvue Reeflux 10k bulbs?

I'm going to be running the 10Ks with VHO actinics as well, so it should be a good mixture. My XM 10Ks even with the VHOs look very yellow, might be partically because of their age (about 6 months) but I'm just not completely happy with them. Can't wait to get my 250Wer in.

Observation question?
Do the over time realy change that much color ( yellow to white) or do your eyes over 100 hrs ajust to the color after the original shock of the change and disappointment.
The reason for the question is i thought my tank was yellow incolor with 250 de hqi bulbs and 20k radium 400 bulbs. Then i saw a 65k ushio bulb tank and it looked like my dog hosed in it ( all day )

wentreefgirl, what would that tank look like without the vhos? It looks like the vho's are dominating the color.

Just got my bulbs in last night, fired them up for a couple of hours, and I really love the color, even with actinics on they aren't too blue but do have a very nice color spectrum. I can't wait to see how all of my corals like them! :D

wow, that pink really does make things pop

I have been using my reeflux 250w DE 10k for about 3 or 4 days now, and it is very very crisp white, with a hint of blue and pink, but nooo where near as pink as that...

I wonder if it needs more time to burn in?

but comparing this to my old XM 20k, this thing is like 10x brighter, and when two layers of screen over the top of my tank, its still brighter than my 20k, and when i took the screen off just to see what it would look like, i almost needed sun glasses :)

i hope they do burn into that pink

I've been eyeballing that top down shot of wantreefgirls, and it looks to me like those are uri 50/50's in there. That also would explain all the pink in those shots.

Am I correct? :)

I have not seen any pink on these. I am running them on the Coralvue Electronic Ballast. One is more blue than the other because I burned it in for 4 days on a HQI Ballast. The Corals are really responding both in color and growth. Really noticeable in only 3 weeks. These bulbs are keepers for sure. The 12K's too. I'll be alternating them between Xm's and Radiums. My coral really respond t the different spectrums every 6 months.

Well I just pluged in a reeflux se 250. Got it from tony, great transaction and was delivered next day since im close. I was using the regular coralvue 250 with the coralvue eballast and all I can say is that it is brighter than the regular coralvue. Lets just wait and see when they burn in. I do suppliment with 2 24w t-5's. What t-5's are reefers using to supliment these bulbs? 2 pure actinics? 1 aqua blue 1 aqua blue+? What do you recomend?

I suppliment mine with 54 watt T5s
I had the 12ks and ordered 10Ks just to compare. So far I am not happy with the color of the 10K. They are yellow in my opinion. I do hope they burn in blue. Anyone else have burn in comments on the 10K

tjay, what kind of ballast are you using? I've been considering the Reeflux entirely because I hate the yellow look of XM10k's. You say the reeflux look yellow to you as well?

I just use magnetic m58 ballasts
The 12Ks were not yellow at all, but I ordered 10ks to see if I would like them and they seem a little yellow to me, but they have only been on 16 hours

I have a magnetic too (pulse). Please keep us posted on the burn-in, I'm very interested how they turn out for you.
