Anyone tried the Coralvue Reeflux 10k bulbs?

I've been having some very minor spots of red algae in the past few months. I hadn't considered the bulbs at all as I had a pretty vicious outbreak of red slime a few months back.
Now that I think about it though, it seems like it's related.... Anyone else having this problem?
I haven't really had ANY algae problems since I started my tank over a year and a half ago. I changed to the Reeflux 12k's about a month and a half ago(went from a Hami 14k). I've noticed a lot more algae outbreaks. I've never had algae problems like I am now. I can't guarentee that it's the bulb, but it seems odd that this is all happening shortly after switching. I'm really thinking about going back to the Hami 14k. I really prefered the color as well.

OMG! I believe getting acurate white balance photo's with my old Sony cybershot may be impossible! I can get shots that are too blue or two white. Nothing that's acurate enough to show correctly. I'll keep trying.

Ok, here is the best I could come up with. The tank is young still and has been going through some stability swings, and most recently, recovering from red bugs. I do seem to be growing a bizzare orange/gold coralline algae. :strange:
These shots are pretty close. I have my actinics turned off for all the pics. These are DE bulbs with pfo hqi ballast and pendents.
This is just the 12k reeflux in the center.
This is (outsides) 14kaquaconnect and (center) 12kreeflux.
This is (in order from left to right) 14k ushio, 12k reeflux, 10kab.
I noticed that in the bottom two pics, the reeflux 12k has the whitest look of all the bulbs in both photos. The top pic shows how all the colors look as they should (for the first time, IMO, for a bulb on the blue side). I'll probably order two more if I'm still happy with this one after two weeks burn in. Maybe, even remove the actinics.
Also, the center pendant hangs perpendicular, and the side pendants hang sideways. If that makes any sense. I feel the light is distributed well with de pendants like this on an AGA180. (before, when they all were sideways, I thought the light didn't cover well in the front and back portions of the center.

the guy who is having a problem with red slime should check his water first and then water flow for dead spots.bulbs dont cause red slime algae!you can kill the algae by using a product called chemi-clean.

I would never use Chemi-clean.It can kill red algae,but also good bacteria.Red slime is not a algae,it is a bacteria.Check your water and do a water change.
Back to the topic of the bulbs.i have two 10k reeflux that are on mag ballest and burn differant,one is bluer then the other.Has any one else had that happen to them.

I have a IC 400w elctronic with the 10k'r reflux and it definitely borders to the pinkish white hue after 60 days of use so far. I will say for a certain that it will take the brownish SPS's to a nice blue or purple color up in time, and the darker colored SPS's red and green monti-caps I had went to lighter neon color, or should say lightened them up quite a bit. At first I thought bleaching was around the corner with this 10k, so kept a close eye on them but soon found out it's just the reaction to the bulb. I had for a year up to this point a Aquaconnct 400w 14k, and have to say with my experience so far with the reflux is I wont be paying $140 ever again for a bulb made in germany, if ya know what I mean.

Nice to see some good results for the DE crowd.
i've been running 2 de 10k reeflux for about a month-one has burned in a nice blue/white but the other is a dull yellow.i contacted website i bought from-hope they support what they sell and switch it out.this is probably my last bulb bought on initial hype,back to ushio de or radiums.don't mean to sound so negative but i'm just frusrated with how my tank looks now.

I saw on www.reeftanksupply.com the 250w SE 10k's for $50, thinking about buying a pair for my new setup along with one of the Reef Fanatic eballasts, what do you guys think? Would that be a good setup?
