Has anyone noticed a bloom in red slime algae after using these bulbs? I have two tanks that are on seperate systems after adding these bulbs I have noticed red algae blooms. A few days ago I changed one take to hamilton 14k's and the red algae is almost gone. It looks like the reeflux has a lot of spectrum that the red algae thrives on. Is it just me pointing fingers or has anyone else noticed this? I use the 250w 10k SE on icecaps
That would be me. I have ruled out the bulbs as being suspect.the guy who is having a problem with red slime should check his water first and then water flow for dead spots.

i've been running 2 de 10k reeflux for about a month-one has burned in a nice blue/white but the other is a dull yellow.i contacted website i bought from-hope they support what they sell and switch it out.this is probably my last bulb bought on initial hype, back to ushio de or radiums.don't mean to sound so negative but i'm just frusrated with how my tank looks now.
