anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I can't find the variable voltage adapter that people are referencing in this thread. Can someone give me a link? Also, I've seen some people questioning the safety of doing this. Has anyone had any problems with it?

A lot of people are using them and I have not heard anything negative yet, but it's on;y been a month at the most.

I was going to send you a link via PM, but I see moatdaddy already did.

I have had 2 pumps (from 2 separate shipments) running for about 2 weeks. in the W1 mode every 3-4 on/off's, the propeller would not spin and make a clicking sound. I am guessing it's trying to spin backwards. Both pumps are having the same issue.

love the wave it makes in W1 mode, but can't help but to feel that it'll wear out the pump pre-maturely.. plus when it 'stalls', it reduces the wave.

anyone else having this problem?

Are you running these on a variable voltage supply? I had the same problem when the pump was straight inline with the mount running at anything below 18V. This can be corrected by either running it at full voltage or putting the back of the pump at 90 degrees to the mount. Hope this helps.

I want to order one of these but want to make sure it's right for my tank

I have a 75 mixed reef. If I order one would I have to get the power thing or would the wp40's modes be enought and not too much flow for my tank

Thanks

I have a 125 6' foot and on wave 1 mode it can after 30 min knock water over the tank so one for. 75 is more then plenty just play with modes and u can find the correct setting for your tank.

Ordered 2 today. shipped =238$ w/delivery end of month. 120 long mixed reef 9 yrs old. The old units are currently in trash can. I hope there all the hype makes them to be, but for 1/4 the price of mp's ill take a shot. Plus I can't mount external motors on this tank setup. Its fit tight into the in wall cabinet on both sides. 1" max room in there for a magnet holder. This is just what the doctor ordered i think.

Alright, it sounds like I made a bad purchase. I guess I will be selling this when I get it and looking for a different option. I just don't want to spend the money on the high end pumps and I thought with the different modes this would be workable.

I have one on a 60 cube at 18v or so and it's fine. You will be fine with 36in of length.

Has anyone gotten a response back from the manufacture? I even sent an email in Chinese. No idea how well google translated it though.

Has anyone tried these in a large tank. I have a 420 and bought 2. They really do not move much water on the wave besides close to the pumps. I may need to add 2 more . They are smaller than my koralia's though and the magnet is alot better also.

I have a 300 gal with a footprint of 5'x4' and I agree with you. 2 don't move as much water as I thought they would based on the responses in this thread.

I do get a good wide flow but I found the Sicce Voyager 4000 I have has more "oomph". Where I thougt the WP40's might replace my Sicce's I now think they will make good supplements.

I couldn't get a 1" wave until I moved the pump just a few inches from the top of the water which doesn't work for me for long term placement. I think the volume and/or footprint of the tanks may be influencing the results some are seeing. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is in any way the pump's fault but the fault of my expectations. I suspect I would have been equally underwhelmed with an MP40.

So, LARGE tank owners should take this into consideration. 1 or 2 of these pumps ain't gonna do it for us. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase especially considering the price. I would recommend this pump and may buy more.

I just replaced 2 Sicce Voyager HP2800's on my 180G with 2 WP-40's. I've always liked my Sicce's but found they had more of a direct stream vs the wider flow of these pumps. Overall I'm impressed with them... especially for the money. So for now the Sicce will sit on a shelf for backup duty.

The reply I got basically blew me off.

Then a friend of mine called and talked to them about a buying pumps in big numbers for resale here in the US. He asked about factory support and they basically said once the distributor buys the product, Jebao washes their hands of it. It's up to the distributor to decide if they want to make things right for the end user. Jebao doesn't care about you. All they care about is getting the product out the door. If you can find a quality distributor that will back up the product you will be much better off, but I seriously doubt that Fish Street is that distributor.

My advise: buy pumps from Jebao at your own risk. If they work for you, it's a good deal. If you get a bad pump, you can consider it a supply of spare parts and buy another one or just accept the loss. Buying Jebao products is like gambling in Vegas, you put down your money and you take your chances. It's a fairly good product and an awful company as best as I can tell. Maybe that's why Tunze and Eco Tech charge so much... customer service. I'd rather pay $149 for a pump that had power/flow control and customer service than gamble on an $85 pump that has no company behind it. Jebao gives Chinese manufacturers a bad reputation. If anybody EVER gets a quality reply from Jebao, PLEASE share it here!

I"m running mine, in "else" mode on a 120. The thing is great. In 24 hours it has quietened down considerably and is rocking the tank. I can get it to splash over on "W1". I'm currently running it in tandem with 2 x Koralia #4 that I intended to take off of the tank but it seems to be working out just fine. Here's a short vid of the pump running by itself right after putting it in the tank. All other pumps, except return, have been unplugged. You can see the patch of cyano that I'm battling right now.

Where is your pump located. I couldn't see from your video.
