anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Ok Guys! I got my MP40 today and it works great! I quickly went to modding it to try and figure out if I could control it with PWM. It worked like a charm I am able to control the intensity of all modes. The awesome part about all of this is that I can control it with any 0-10v controller IE Apex. The crappy part is that I sold my Apex JR awhile back with my DIY LED's. Looks like I will be buying one soon as well as a VDM module.

And for those of you, who like me, have no electronics skills, it works great with the variable output DC power converter. Mine just arrived today and it works GREAT. And cost a whopping $12 plus shipping. But I'm really glad to hear that it can be moded to work with a reef controller as well. That may be next on my list. :bounce2::bounce1::bounce3::dance::thumbsup:

Well, since I have two WP40s I just can't resist to put both in my 125g to see what they can do. Wow, the fish are struggling to stay in one place. The water surface is like a flowing river and the current in the tank stirred up a mini sand storm.

Your fish look like they hate you. lol

How do you know it works with 0-10v as well? What needed to be done?

Just got my WP 40 and installed it.

OMG

Now i have it in my 36 gallon and its in wave motion right now and its literally the PERFECT amount of flow. nothing is getting blasted to hard and everything is swaying very smoothly. The ramp up sound is barely noticeable. Its honestly not THAT big. I ran through the modes and its just smooth as can be. Please do your self a favor and get one lol and the best thing is, ONLY ONE POWERHEAD IN TANK!

Paul,

Maybe i will make a video of it.

Can you tell me what is that grey knob you have where the light sensor was inserted? Is that the knob you added to control the intensity? Can you post some more info or pictures how you modified the control?

This just adds so much flexibility to the pump and is simply amazing!

If its a PWM module, isn't it still converting the 0-10v analog signal into PWM? If so, we'll probably still need a converter, like Stevesleds 0-10v to PWM module, or the one you have, which is sleek and fits in the original controller. Where did you get it?

and also,

(just curious) why do people want the power turned down? I find that it is very easy to dial the wave down to a sweet spot and the fish dont seem to be having a difficult time swimming through it. The undertow is amazing btw :thumbsup:

Grey knob is a potentiometer. Its an analog + - signal connection. You can either control it via the knob off that module, or through an Apex.

That's huge. 1 Apex controllable pump that can power enough flow for the entire tank for $105? Sold. Biggest pump development in a long time.

Something like a stevesled PWM module but built to take the 5v PWM signal from the unit and chop it up, kind of like a throttle. Then you could still use the built in modes but have flow control without a lot of add-in cost. I bet steve can make a 5v version easily; just leave off a few components and maybe a slightly modified program.

Steve's is 5v. It's perfect.

Floyd's module is doing the same thing. If it costs less, its an even better option, since it fits in the controller box.

Would you all recommend one for a rimless 105 (48"x 24"X 21"). I would love to get rid of my 4 Korillas and only have one pump in the tank/

Wonder if it would be controllable with a Reef Angel?

Yes it is just a Pot that hooks up in place of the 0-10v signal. I got the module off of ebay to control some DIY led's. The module does not fit perfectly in the box by the way. But it is close enough for me so I went with it. There is not allot of room in the box unfortunately. I personally am running the pump at full output as I have a 6 foot tank. I am just interested in getting a controller to have a custom program for two pumps. this way they can be synchronized with each other.

As long as the reef angel has a 0-10v dimmer control module it would be controllable.

So if I was going to just use one on my tank 48"x 24"X 21" there would be no real need to link with my RA. Would I need to turn it down with a variable output DC power converter?

Like this?

Dimming Expansion

This Dimming expansion module allows you to expand your system with 6 more dimming channels.

It is offered in 2 different dimming signals (Analog and PWM signals).

You can mix and match the dimming expansion modules to achieve any combination of signals you desire.

Each channel has its own booster and outputs 0-10VDC Analog or PWM signals.

Yeah that looks like what you would need to talk to the PWM module.

Floyd, would I be able to pick up a pot like you used at RadioShack?

I'm sure they have one. I got a Pot with the PWM module that I got off of ebay. Just do a search for 24v PWM they are around 10 bucks from china. You just hook it up to the 24 volt lines to the pump. You leave the VA line hooked up to the controller.
