anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

China has a very different culture when it comes to names, this is the way they operate, not in a vindictive attempt to steal customers by trickery, but in a way to make their product sound as good as the competition, its more of a compliment to the like names. Its hard to explain how much they value a name, but it has a lot to do with why you see lots of chinese restaurants named things like "super happy family hong kong chinese buffet" or weird things like that.

Good point. How many Chinese restaurants called "Great Walls" that you have come acrossed? Also they have a habit of adding "New" to an existing name to make it different:lmao:. There is a saying of "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

on a side note ...... Ecotech just dropped their prices for MP60 and other pumps .... lol

Actually, according to BRS, their prices are actually higher than when I bought my (2) mp40esw's about 2 years ago... Higher across the board for all models...

I'm very curious about these wave makers myself, however I'm not looking to make any waves in my display... Jus some good steady flow... If I can adjust the flow intensity, that would be sweet...

I only saw a price drop on the MP60. I wonder if they wil do the same to the 10s and 40s.

I should get my GB pair of WP40's this weekend or early next week. Pretty excited to try them out.

The market will set the prices. As more and more people buy the WP, the MP will lower pricing to reclaim market share. The WP has only been on the market for a few months so it will be a while before the MP feels the effects to their bottom line.

I think Ecotech is holding firm and waiting for the WP to prove unworthy over the long term. They will not drop prices at the first site of competition but they will if the WP proves to be a reliable alternative to the MP line.

Sorry to hear about the DOA power supply.
When I've dealt with them for CS they have been very quick and very good except the 1 instance where I was having a problem with the night sensor and they just said it was an unwarranted part and refused to even assist a little bit.

Did your WP25 come with the new variable speed controller?

The power supply for the WP25 is different than the WP40 and consist's of a wal-wart that is the transformer. If FS is sending you power supply that has variable speed on it they are probably sending you this one that is not produced by Jebao...

Anyone using this adapter have any problems with it? Mines seems to run really hot and gives off a weird overheating smell.

correct my unit did not come with the new controller and variable PS

like i said one of the original PS that that came with my wp25s was DOA

so they replace it with the one in the photo above this link
they did not have to do that they could have just sent a stock PS
but they sent the better one

After getting my WP40, I think the competition is the MP60.

I think it puts off a lot more flow then a MP40 (on the other half of my tank).

I'm not familiar with that unit. I call that smell pre-cook. I hope you are no longer using it. I don't like any method of slowing these pumps that creates more heat. Even a little more heat.

In terms of the pump, maybe using something like this causes 5 gal. water to be only 1 degree warmer, but at the same time maybe a tiny but critical component in the pump is getting real hot.

When it comes to electronics, heat is not your friend.

I'm using a different unit that looks very similar but only goes from 15v to 24v and it gives off almost no heat at all. It's not room temperature cool, but it's not really even close to being 'warm' either. Just not cool to the touch. And I've been running it at 18v for close to 3 months now.

Any one know where I can find a cable to connect in between the pump and power supply , setting up a 600 gallon tank and these cords ain't no where near long enough. Looks like I need a 3 pin male/female something or other

Just when I was going to stop using it, I see it burned out. No fire or anything happened but the adapter burned out. I knew something was off. If anyone is wondering I bought this from FS. I'll have to pay 6usd to have them ship out a new one.

Ron, which adapter did you buy? Do you recommend me getting the one you have or the dial one?

I wish I could be more help, but I don't remember. I'll look, but I make no promises. Somebody else here in this thread posted the Amazon site and I just did it. I also got 2 of the dimmers, but I haven't even tried them because the power supply works so well. I'll be swapping out the WP40 for 2 WP25's pretty soon (they are on their way to my distributor).

It took me a while, but here is the post I picked the link from:

Anyone heard anything regarding cease and desist orders regarding these pumps?

I heard on my local forum that Tunze sent them a cease and desist letter or something, not sure if it applied to the 40 or the 25 or both...but it sounds like it hasn't stopped them. Apparently they are rubbing someone the wrong way!
