anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Wp 40

Wp 40

I have 3 tho one of them is purely for backup. I must say I really like them. Looks like they need to be taken out and cleaned a bit more often then my old Tunze pumps, but hey I dont see the issue. My oldest pump 9months old died on me for some reason?. Just send teh HK online shop a fast ticket, and BAM they sent me a new engineblock for shipping only so 8$US. It came within a week too.

I just got my wp40.

How are you guys position it in the tank?
I have ,72"x18"x28" with overflow only on one side of the tank.

Will you put it on the overflow side or the opposite side?

Will you put it at the back of the tank or on the side?

Vertically how high from the bottom or how deep from the surface?
I have another circulation pump (constant), should I keep them on the same side or opposite side?

Frederick

How much water does the other powerhead move? I'd put them on opposite sides, with the one that moves more water on the same side as the overflow. That way the reverse flow on the surface (the water has to replace what's getting displaced by the pump) will feed into the overflow.

As for how high, I gotta keep mine 5-6" below the surface otherwise it starts a vortex on the surface.

My tank is the same dimensions as yours btw, 150g.

I have a question that someone may be able to answer i hope. I have a 4 month old wp40 and it was not spinning the other day when i got home. Took it out, cleaned it put it back and nothing. The power supply is good, and the controller also, i switched it with one of my other wp40s but when it is plugged into the pump cord the power supply flashes and there is no lights on the controller.

I was able to get the pump to spin a few times by manually jump stating the impeller, and the lights would turn on the controller and power supply light would stay on during that period. Could a bad impeller cause this? Thats the only thing i haven't switched, and if not is there anywhere to buy just the pump with cord not the whole thing?

Fish street has impellers. Will be covered under warranty if you bought through them. Switch out impeller with your other WP....
Also make sure the impeller is fully seated. If you use controller switch that as well. The above will tell you what you need to replace.

Getting ready to order two of these for my 210G that's 72 long. Should I do two 40s or two 60s???

Don't do wp60 if you have small substrate. I have a 210 gal and oolite sand and have two WP40'S DIALED DOWN because they create a sandstorm when let loose!

Yes impeller fully seated, tried the other controller, has the same problem but works on the other pump fine.

Out of 9 in operation I currently can say that they seem to run as I had expected and then some. All of them tuned to lower settings even on medium sized tanks (100-175 gallon). Had to repair a defective impeller on one as it had a bit of plastic left from the manufacturing process. 10 second Drexel job and it operates great again.

I've used jebao/jebo return pumps since day one for me in the hobby, and I have one going on 9 years old used for water exchange and lugged to countless homes.

I am worried about the circuitry as thier power compact lights were prone to bad workmanship and high defect rates...time will tell I suppose.
Though these pumps seem to have a build quality that the return pumps do which I really like. I'm hoping that the wp10 is tuned way down for use in nano systems, fingers crossed.

After almost a year running my wp25 has been great. Just did a nice hour of running it in white vinegar to clean it up a but. Was getting dirty and had a lot of coralline. Back to 100% now

Thanks for contributing reefpro!

WP40, unless dialed way back, is much too strong for a 60g

You prefer vortech because the WP is too strong?

The sensor is a quick, inexpensive and easy fix

So add me to the dead motor group. I bought mine feb 26, 2013 and have been running everyday since mid march. Today I the impeller was just sort of shaking and a hum was coming off the pump. I cleaned (it wasn't bad), reseated the bushings, tried different impeller, tried different stock controller - it still didn't work (when I hooked it up to the new version controller the lights alternated from g1 and s1).

Just emailed fish street, we'll see what happens.
