Does anyone know how much voltaget the light sensor (photo-electric cell) should be putting out? Mine worked for 5 min and then stopped.
I would get the night indicator to come on if I placed my finger over the cell, now nothing.
If think it is the controller and not the cell that has the problem/
Fish-city will not warrant it in any way.
I think you mean Fish Street not Fish City. And I have less issue with the store not dealing with the warranty issue than with the manufacturer. Try contacting Jebao directly:

And here is the problem with China that we all have to keep in mind. They are a long ways away for us to even talk to, let alone to ship defective product to. And in this case you have a Chinese store and a Chinese manufacturer.
Now in the area of led lighting, I've done a fair amount of work with EverGrow (also sold thru Reef Breeders as Photon lights). And EverGrow has bent over backwards to help out when customers have problems. They sent out complete new circuit boards at no charge and no shipping fee when some of the first buyers got IT series lights that had clocks that ran fast by 5min/hr!
I would have thought Fish Street would have a relationship with Jebao and could have helped here. Or at the
VERY least, could have given you a contact at Jebao and they could could send you a new controller, or at least a new circuit board for inside. I would recommend you continue to trace down your problem and also try to find a customer service person at Jebao.

If they don't help out customers with problems, do they deserve our loyalty or complimentary words and praise as a company? And for the record, I've sent 2 emails to Jebao and they have failed to respond to either.
The WP40 seems to be working the majority of the time, maybe even the vast majority of the time. I think we all had concerns about the quality of these pumps and Jebao, the manufacturer, back when this thread started. And I was one of the first to give it a try and it's worked well for me so far... but that's only 6 weeks! The whole unit is kind of cheaply put together, but then so are a lot of expensive pumps and other aquarium hardware, so for now I'm reasonably happy with the pump. Besides, what do you expect from an $85 pump and controller that is the only low price competition for a $335 Tunze or $465 MP40?
But a few bad pumps and poor customer service will have them in serious trouble in terms of customer feedback here on RC. If they don't follow thru and provide basic warranty help, they don't deserve our even buying the pumps in the first place.
Come on Jebao, step up to the plate and be a good member of the Chinese manufacturing community. Stand behind your warranty and do the right thing. Just look at the Chinese led thread and see the huge amount of praise EverGrow gets compared to Tao-Tronics, or SunSun or a handful of other CHEAP Chinese manufacturers. Or you can do nothing and risk going down in flames like so many other Chinese junk manufacturers. :headwally:
Just my personal opinion.
