anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Yeah these things are really picking up speed in the reef world. Does anyone think that they will offer them in the states soon? like reefbreeders?

Fish-Street.com was one of the original retail outlets that sold Maxspect LEDs and Bubble Magnus protein skimmers. If Jebo WP40 proves to reliable, I will bet a US distributor is not too far off in the future given lots of people are looking for lower cost Vortech alternatives.

wp40 Panic!

wp40 Panic!

Ok, just got my new tank full of saltwater yesterday and was excited to see that my new WP40 pump arrived in the mail. Pulled it out of the box last night and the pump looks great but I noticed a funny looking plug-in that obviously is not going to fit. All of a sudden I am in a panic...does this pump even work on US electricity? Here is a picture...I am hoping that all I need to do is change the outlet or the plug. Any electricians out there!

For what i see, you may only need an adaptor, the oulet you have is for 240 v. but any expert will tell you exactly what it is.

Panics over

Panics over

Ok, I should have googled this before I publically paniced here. The answer that I found is 100-240v means

"power supply, capable of working on any country's power system (110V like the USA or 220v like most of the rest of the world). "

Sounds like all I need is an adapter. Will let you all know when it's running.

I thought all you need is a cord/plug like this. Any computer store will sell this.

that wont work for an adapter for his. the cord they sent is for european countries, the positive and negative points are at an angle not straight up and down. just a universal adapter would work fine. you could probly get one at walmart

I came across this picture which shows all the cable connections. I was assuming the cord/plug on the left is the one we are talking about. Looks like it can easily be replaced with a computer power cable like the one I described above.

Simon you're correct. A standard computer cord, just like the pic you posted, is all you need. Fish street sent me a pic of the 110v cord they include with the wp40, and it's the exact same cord.

Notice in the picture of the AC/DC adaptor Saltydog2 posted, the adapter is US UL listed. May be this helps for those who worry about safety. It also helps the output is DC.

Saltydog2, when did you order your WP40 from FishStreet? Can you tell me the date? I think mine shipped on the 7th. It can't get here soon enough.

Post some pics and keep us up to date with what you think about the pump!

Thanks.

word must have spread quickly, the wp 40 is on "pre-order" status atm. I think im going to pick mine up as soon as they are in stock again.

I visited a Swedish forum and used Google Translate to read a review from one of the users who just received the unit. Here is the Google Translate of what he said about the WP40:

"Then I packed it up and put it in the tub. Writes no long review but it will be some pictures and personal comments. gasket, it was nothing special to say about. size, much like a Tunze 6105th Felt substantially built and CE marking are (European with spaces between C and E) Pleasantly surprised by the silicone spacers which they copied from the new tunzepumparna which of course helps a lot of vibration. controller, simple and logical with a "mode" button to switch between, low, high, wave1, wave2, wave3 and a sixth program I did not understand me yet. You select which program anyway you want then you can start turning the knob to set the interval. Got a 3-4cm wave at 20 seconds mixrande. I have not tested all these even when the kids would have had food again today .. But most of all .. It is QUIET as a tunze .. Marking no difference between it and my 6095 which to my ears is dead silent unless you put your ear to them. flow I think I can imagine that the 13,000 liters as it should be on the line when at least breathing down on a lot more than my 6095 which has been around 9500l as maximum flow. now we'll see if it holds in the long run as well. If it does so, it will be a tough match for the tunze and Vortech .."

The translation is a little rough but I think you can capture the essence of what he said.
