anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

any updated on the WP25? I have no issues buying from Fish-Street. I purchased my SunSun Powerheads from their, After 1 year of use, Still going strong, Ive never even cleaned them. Covered in coraline algae.

I just wonder if a WP40 would be too much for my 110 Tall?

If you don't want to wait for the WP25 and don't mind the size of WP40, get a variable power supply from Amazon like this one for $12 w free shipping for Prime mbr.

Here is a video showing the flows between 24V and 15V from the variable power supply in my 92g tank with one WP40.

After reading the entire thread, and there were some edge of the seat moments in there, I finally think I've found the right powerhead. As with many people, I'm not wanting to drop $800 on Vortechs....

After seeing the footage on this 92g, especially after the voltage mod, I'm sure this would work great in my new 120g Reef. It's not even up yet. I'm about 2 weeks from dry rock, sand, and it getting wet, so I'm scoping out all the right remaining equipment.

SO... from what I can see.... I would just need one of these and that's all I'd need in regards to powerheads right? One and done. Especially with being able to mess with modding the voltages.

Ha, this is funny. I am on the same timetable as you with the same exact size tank, the only difference is I was looking at Tunze's. I have a Vortech now and hate the noise it makes. I can here it 2 rooms away when it ramps up and down. It has been this way since I bought it brand new.

I have tried the really strong 1 pump and do not like it. The reason is that one side of the tank gets pounded and the other side gets a nice gentle flow. I would rather have 2 pumps running at slower speeds giving a better coverage than just one full blast. Now that these are able to be dialed down, that is exactly what I did and purchased 2 about 5 minutes ago. :bounce3:

Of course, this is only my opinion and I know that more than a few people run their tanks with just 1 MP40(or now WP40 :D). It just wasn't my cup of tea and wanted more random flow.

Now I can't wait until we get these hooked up to the Apex so that I can control them just like the Tunze's.

Now if the WP25 comes out in the next month, I'll grab 2 of those. Mostly because I want two, and two WP40's would be an eye sore in my opinion. I'm all about a clean look, and two softballs in my tank will bug me.

For now, I'm thinking of just one WP40 and dial it in right with the mod. Maybe that's all I'll need in the long run, if not, I'll grab 2 WP25's when they finally hit the market.

The biggest thing is my tank is 12' from my couch and I am taking great lengths to make my whole setup as silent as possible for when I watch movies/TV.

Great video thanks. Any chance you could do the same but show inside the tank?

Sure. Ask and you shall see:lolspin:

Video started out at 24V then switched to 15V on the variable power supply. One WP40 in my 92 gal corner tank on W1, wave making mode.

If I put this in a 120, would this be the only powerhead I'd need? I know 2 is too much with the WP40, but as far as flow is concerned, would one WP40 be all I need as far as total powerheads in tank or would I still need a Hydor or anything like that?

The WP40 at 3200gph is about 27 turns of your tank per hour. That's good enough for most corals (sps like more). And you have to add in the flow from your sump (assuming you have a sump). Then the question is, will 1 WP40 move water enough to keep you from having any 'dead spots'. It depends on a lot of factors. But overall, I think you'd be good.

I'll be ordering one at the end of the week. I'm sold.

I have a 40b sump and will be running a Eheim 5000 return through 4 lock line nozzles I can point and shoot to problem areas.

I think this will be good.

If anyone knows how to control the WP40 with RKE or RKL via the APC module, I will be very interested to know how it is done. I understand the APC module works with Tunze pumps.

x2 anybody done this yet? this is what's holding me back from grabbing one. Im not electronics savvy, but some of my local club members are & I could enlist their help.

Ordered one with variable DC adapter for my new 4'-75Gal tank. Hopefully will not raise tsunami in it but provide enough flow in 15V mode. :)

Cost-wise I'd have to spend around $100 for enough Koralia's to get proper flow, but here for $110+$15 I get enough flow with 3-mode wavemaker and variable speed control. Sounds like win-win as long as it doesn't break during first year :)

We are all keeping our fingers crossed on this. So far no one reports any breakdown or problem yet and some of us have been running this pump for over two weeks.
