anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

heres a video of just 1 on my 180 .. dont think im going to need the other one that came in today

I saw the video. You have something louder than the pump running in the background. The fluctuation in waves mode alternating from 12 to 24v causing the humming. And I actually heard it when you turn your camera toward the pump at about 11 or 12 seconds into the video. If you look at the video on Post #1976 you will hear the pump running when noise ambien in the room is less.

the noise you hear is my main pump reef flo running .. im going to take another video of it with my pump off .. you cant hear any ramp up noise ..

Ganjero,

The price came out to 57.60 plus shipping. They estimate either 91.72 via EMS or 85.21 via Singapore air. This also includes the commission fee.

So did anyone ever figure out why the pwm board that Flyod used worked and the cheap ebay ones dont? I think this is the route I am going for now. I dont have the time to play with the adruino route, I dont like the led dimmer option even though I bought one, but I would like to find a cheaper PWM board that works with a POT.

What are you trying to use the PWM generator with, the stock controller? We could probably design a cheap controller based on the atmega with the required modes programmed in it. It would essentially be what nunodinis posted. I might bust out eagle today or tomorrow and figure it out. I found the connectors for the pump, so I've answered most of my questions now.

Yes, with the stock controller and a Pot to controll pump strength via PWM.
I would love to do a UNO R3 based controller to do all of the vortech modes, but for now I am just trying to get away from using the led dimmer for controll of the stock controller.

When I ordered mine, some came in 3 days but the other was missing. I called ups and they said the others were in Hong Kong due to weather. Scratched my head and was confused. Next day the rest were delivered. Goes to show you international shipping has its issues.

Could just be they love the beach and are scared to go to the Philly burbs.

I'm going to try moving my moonlights forward a little bit so they are in front of the sensor. Maybe that will be enough light to keep it in night mode.

I finally got the night sensor figured out.
Apparently there needs to be some light.
If it sees total darkness or even very dim light it will go to normal mode.
I had to put 1 of my R2 Solutions Extreme LED Moonlight right next to the sensor in order for it to stay in night mode while the lights are actually off.

I ordered two units, one on 3/22 and one on 3/25. Order from 3/25 processed through HK on 3/27, in San Francisco on 3/28 and made it to me on 3/30. The order from 3/22 has been processed through HK on 3/26, but has had no updates nor been delivered since then. FS said the shipping services company is not so good and to allow 1-5 days for delivery. That was on Monday.

Mine works. Light, it runs in whatever mode I have it set. Put my finger over the sensor and it goes into 'sensor' mode. So with low or no light, it goes into night mode, it doesn't require any light at all.

mine light sensor works .. goes into night mode at 11 pm n turns off night mode at 10 am when my stunners come on .. really like these pumps .. rr i got both of mine with in 2 days apart wonder why you have not gotten yours yet .. but i think 1 will be going up on the chopping block 2 in my 180 was way to much .. splash down happen when i turned both on ..

My night sensor is a joke.

Works great if you do the cover the sensor with your finger thing but when the lights really go out it stays in day mode...

I don't get the point of restricting your flow at night. Do the ocean waves slow at night? I wouldn't want mine to slow for skimmer and ATS reasons. Does reducing night flow promote growth or health or is it just that red button that irritates people when it doesn't work right? I didn't even put my sensor in.

The short answer is, yes, more often than not, waves do reduce at night. At least the parts of the ocean I've been around. I live in Florida and see the water calm at sunset and also see it calm at sunrise and then get more active as the sun comes up... not always, but at least 50% of the time. They don't stop and often they are very strong, but I would say more often than not, wave action is reduced at night. And after all, isn't creating a near ocean environment what we are tryng to create in our glass boxes?

I'd say I'm only mildly irritated by the night mode not working properly. If I cover the sensor with my finger it goes into night mode as it should. But left in the dark over night it finds it's way back to normal operation. If I set it in a position where the moon lights shine on the sensor it stays in night mode all night. It's just annoying it doesn't work the way I think it should.

i live on the ocean in satellite beach n right in my back yard is a rock reef .. not true waves do not relax during the night .. it all has to do with moon gravity tides and winds .. if there is no moon waves will relax during the night but you have a moon and going to high tide yes the waves will be a bit bigger pending on pulse ( AKA SWELL PERIOD ) 95.0% of fish sleep during the night n inside the aquarium if you have rock the waves and pulses from the pump it will beat them against the rocks .. in a oceans your talking a bigger area so that can sleep freely with out getting beat up .
