anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

but I seriously doubt that Fish Street is that distributor.

I have to disagree with such a generalized statement as we heard many testimonial stories of how quickly FS responded and replaced defective or missing parts here on this thread.

Warranty is usually honored by the manufacturer after a sale. I have yet to hear a user completely ignored by JeBao because of a warranty request. I don't understand why you are so angry with JeBao as I understand you clearly like your pump and not having major issues with the pump other than the function of the light sensor which JeBao clearly states they don't warranty that piece of equipment.

I would suggest we start looking for better photo sensor for more reliable night mode function.

I have a 300 gal with a footprint of 5'x4' and I agree with you. 2 don't move as much water as I thought they would based on the responses in this thread.

I do get a good wide flow but I found the Sicce Voyager 4000 I have has more "oomph". Where I thougt the WP40's might replace my Sicce's I now think they will make good supplements.

I couldn't get a 1" wave until I moved the pump just a few inches from the top of the water which doesn't work for me for long term placement. I think the volume and/or footprint of the tanks may be influencing the results some are seeing. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is in any way the pump's fault but the fault of my expectations. I suspect I would have been equally underwhelmed with an MP40.

So, LARGE tank owners should take this into consideration. 1 or 2 of these pumps ain't gonna do it for us. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase especially considering the price. I would recommend this pump and may buy more.

I can agree with you. Regardless of what is said on this thread, this pump is still only 3200 gph or so. It isn't a miracle. I believe, if I had a tank in the 300 gallon range, I would still go with an MP60 unless I could figure something out with 3 or 4 of these and a reefangel.

I have a MP60 on one end of my 220 gal and a WP40 on the other. Yes the MP60 pushes a much wider flow, but the directional flow from the WP40 feels and appears stronger in the tank because it is not as wide of a flow...

Untill I can save up $800 for another MP60 the WP40 is doing just fine...:spin3:

I really hope they release a smaller version soon. I would like to get one for my 30g but the WP40 would probably be a bit to powerful.

No offense Ron but you seem to be one of the few with a bad pump and the loudest critic... Isn't just your light sensor that doesn't work? The same sensor that states is not under warranty and clearly stated when you purchased. I feel like some of you are WAY to critical on a $85 pump

The reply I got basically blew me off.

Then a friend of mine called and talked to them about a buying pumps in big numbers for resale here in the US. He asked about factory support and they basically said once the distributor buys the product, Jebao washes their hands of it. It's up to the distributor to decide if they want to make things right for the end user. Jebao doesn't care about you. All they care about is getting the product out the door. If you can find a quality distributor that will back up the product you will be much better off, but I seriously doubt that Fish Street is that distributor.

My advise: buy pumps from Jebao at your own risk. If they work for you, it's a good deal. If you get a bad pump, you can consider it a supply of spare parts and buy another one or just accept the loss. Buying Jebao products is like gambling in Vegas, you put down your money and you take your chances. It's a fairly good product and an awful company as best as I can tell. Maybe that's why Tunze and Eco Tech charge so much... customer service. I'd rather pay $149 for a pump that had power/flow control and customer service than gamble on an $85 pump that has no company behind it. Jebao gives Chinese manufacturers a bad reputation. If anybody EVER gets a quality reply from Jebao, PLEASE share it here!

If you fly in coach you can't expect first class service.

It is obvious the night mode works in the controller. The photoresistor is the component not providing consistent performance. I think in large part due the variability of light levels at each tank. As far as I know, the light sensor is just a variable resistor. Resistance drops when light hits the sensor and rises with little to no light. what I don't understand is when the light sensor is not plugged in (highest resistance?) the pump works normally. The pump also works normally when the light sensor is plugged in with normal light hitting the sensor (lowest resistance). So the pump runs normally in high and low resistance and it explains why in total darkness the pump runs normally. There must be a threshold resistance between low and high that put the controller in night mode or 1/3 power. What do you think?

It's not an 85 dollar pump, it's a 111.35 pump from china on fish-street with some people waiting weeks or 118 on ebay in two days or 125 on amazon. It say 78 on aliexpress which says the unit weights .2kg and deliver via epacket. Which is not the unit weight or a registered shipping way.

I'm with Ron. I tried to do another group order from them and not fishstreet and only got one response. These items claim to have a one year warranty. What can we do against a Chinese company that does not uphold its warranty. Report them to the BBB. Don't think so. Not to mention 111 or more in the us is a lot of money. Personally I don't like the idea of spending 100 dollars plus and getting a paper weight and then little or no response. I'm glad fish street is helping its customers and my guess it is out of pocket.

100% it would and its big. Fish-street offers a smaller wavemaker but I don't know if it has been tried. They are not on controllers just use a confusion water dispersion. 20 US dollars for one and 21 for the other.

Someone in our club had a controller stop working after going in feed mode and fishstreet is sending him a new controller.

I received a pump from Fish-street that was crushed before it was shipped because the shipping box was fine but the Jebao box was smashed. emailed them a picture and they told me that the pump was fine and it had no damage and the picture i sent them showed no damage.

Has anyone gotten a response back from the manufacture? I even sent an email in Chinese. No idea how well google translated it though.

I got a response back, but they basically sent me back to the place of purchase (fish-street.com). Neither company was very helpful.

does any one use the night mode on the WP40?

I have it working in night mode, but it is very sensitive to light.
Apparently there needs to be a little light near the sensor.

An example.
When my 10k PC's are on it works fine, when they turn off and the actinic's are on it goes into night mode, but when the actinics turn off an the moon lights are on it went back into normal mode until I moved the moonlight closer to the sensor, now it stays in night mode all night long or until there is enough daylight in the room to kick them on.

I've also heard of the little orange light on a power strip being enough to keep it in night mode if it is close enough.

I got a MP40 and a WP40 in my 65 gallon tank. The MP40 out put is very weak at max speed compared to the WP40 at max . If I had to do it over i would have just bought one WP40. WP40 on else mode is better then a MP40 on reef crest for a 120 buck pump.

i recieved my WP40 yesterday and just installed it,i didnt put the light sensor in it yet.just to try i put the wp40 beside my mp40 and the wp40 is quieter and more powerful.
i like this thing so far,on else mode i can feel the current in my 225 on the far end which is 60" x 36" x 24"
ive got some wicked currents.
ive only got the knob turned half way

yea i had to mess with mine about 2 hours the other night to find the sweet spot where it worked with the lighting .. it goes off when total darkness .. when my stunners come on pump goes back to W1 n runs all day till the lights and stunners go off ..

just received mine today.
Package was fine.
It took awhile, but I was told to expect a 2 wk delivery period.
It was sent out March 19th but spent like 7-10 days in San Francisco for some reason.

Anyway, it looks fine.
I'm going to wash it in a light vinegar bath and then figure out where I want to put it.
i got some new corals in today too so I want to make sure the test drive of the wave action does not hurt anything!

Also, mine came with only 1 sensor.
Wicked tiny but it is there (he said he they were adding 2...).

Its the weird looking thing between the P and the R

Also, it came with a separate US cord.

If your not happy with the pump file a claim with paypal they will refund your money or make FS fix the problem with the pump. good luck

The US cord didnt work, but I had an extra from an old laptop so it was fine.

It works fine so far.
I was running 5 pumps-2 koralia 4s , 1 koralia 3, 2 mj1200s to get OK circulation.
now this 1 pump circulates food and moves detritus from the rocks on my 120g.

I like the controller.
I am running it on Low mode on my 120 standard tank.

and running on Low mode, I can't even hear it. No sound is made that I can hear.

when it is on ELSE mode, I can hear the transition, but it is like a low tone beep. I cannot hear it if I am more than 3-5 ft away. It actually sounds kind of cool. It is not intrusive at all.

I dont need the variable power supply yet.
Perhaps it also depends on how you aquascape your tank. my fish and corals seem fine.

so for me the test is to hope that it lasts and has good performance over the next few years.
