anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Only 1 that I know of and I can't call it a horror story.
One person had their controller fail after 2 months, but I've had mine running about that lon and had no problems.

I've had mine running 24/7 since I got it in mid Feb, so just over 3 months. And I run it on 18v rather than 24v to slow down the top flow rate to about 2400gph. The only break it had was when I pulled it out for a heat test in a 5g bucket for a couple of days. I didn't even clean it, just put it back in the tank. The only issue I've had is the silly night sensor needing a bit of light (more than a bit really) to work properly. That just seems so wrong to me, it needs a light to sense that it's dark and dial back the pump?

I just received my WP40 yesterday. I was worried it was going to be too strong because I put it in a 57g rimless. I bought the adjustable power supply from Amazon as well in hopes it would tone down flow if I needed it to. DC pumps are definitely the way to go.

I positioned it in the back right corner of my tank and created an angle that projects the flow from the front pane of glass to the back left corner. All I can say is that my initial impression is amazement. Soooo cool. At 24 volts I was getting an occasional splash trickling over the front pane...but now at 18V it is fine. I have it set on W1 for now...I may experiment more with else today.

My night mode worked fine last night as well. I actually was surprised last night when I went into my fish room, turned on the room light, and the pump ramped up again....cool.

I am very happy.

i have officially replaced all of my vortechs in my 75g tank with a single wp40 @ 18v..... amazed right now. Every single piece of coral in my tank is getting some action! and my sandbed... never been cleaner! you should have seen the amount of dead pods floating in my tank when i first put on the wp40! A+++ for now

I have had a wp40 running for about 2 months now and just got a second one last week. I can say the second one is operating much stronger than the original one. I guess over time the first one has lost some power...??? I hadn't really noticed the power loss until I plugged in the new one and was like WHOA that's a big difference! I probably need to clean my original and see if that's the problem.....

Can you see if there is noticeably more play between the impeller shaft and bushing? Do you have access to a micrometer to compare old and new impeller shaft diameters?

People are looking for lower cost alternatives to MP40. WP40 is never intended to be comparable to MP40, not in design nor performance. Given the low cost, WP40's performance and features can't be found in any powerhead or wavemaker in the same price range.

The only thing the MP40 has over the WP40 is the lack of motor in the water....

Wider flow, more under tow, less risk of critical failure releasing undesirables, warranty, customer support......

I agree though, this thread shouldn't be about comparisons. I am probably getting a couple to use with my reef angel in the next couple months, just want to see a longer beta test.

Well I have read all posts and I am going to give it a shot just a quick question I have a 90 gallon mixed reef how many pumps would I need and which ones I am getting more and more into sps thanks
