anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I've had my WP-40 and WP-25 for both over a year with not problems.

WP-40 April of 2013
WP-25 June of 2013

Jebao is the manufacturer and unlike American manufacturers they do not handle the warranties, they let the retailers do that.

I know you bought them as a group buy directly from them, but the one Group buy that I was involved with I know the the organizer had made arrangements with Jebao to have the products warranted.

I don't know if other GB organizers do that.

Is it the power heads that fail or the controller in most cases. I have 2 sitting in the equipment pile that has been a super slow build. Just finished the stand so I am moving forward. I also have Torx cables to run 2 wp40s and a dc9000 return. Guess we will know a year after my startup.

I believe it is the power head on both....I have multiple controllers available, (4 in total), and the same problem was evident regardless of which controller I used.

Regarding the Group buy leader.....I tried contacting him as well and no luck there either. Actually my pumps were purchased around April/May 2013 and both crapped out in August of this year, (not that they hit water immediately). Jebao did say the warranty was only 1 year...so I'm out of luck on all fronts.....It was just weird that both pumps exhibited the same failures within 2 weeks of each other. Also, I don't like it when someone just ignores me.

Poor product reliability? No costumer service? sound like chinese business model to me.

It is what it is........we all knew we were taking a risk....that's why I also have 2 x Tunze 6105's w/battery backup in my tank....these were added flow at a cheap price point ($65 each). As time goes by we'll have a better idea if mine was the rule or the exception....

haha, this is actually lol funny (not really but you kind of have to laugh instead of cry)- i havent been on here in a while, but i literally had the same situation happen; bought 2 wp40s from the Atlanta Group buy and both failed within two weeks of each other about a year after I started using them. Exact same issues as you described. I am going to try a universal power supply as some have said that could be the issue. This gives me a little hope, mainly because after the 2nd pump failed i tried the 2nd power supply with the 1st pump and got another 3 weeks out of it. Ill order one tonight and let you guys know if it "fixed" either of my two failed pumps.

Does anyone know what this might be called? The guy didnt post a link to the power supply:

Did you read what Fish Street is doing for me? My 1st failure of the prop pump after 18 to 19 months of use with my Apex Contoller...off on every 5-7 seconds 24 7. I really don't think Jebao had any idea we would put these pumps through this kind of abuse. I am OUT OF MY 1 YEAR WARRANTY. They are selling me 2 pump heads for $50 including shipping. 1st Fish Street has amassed a large parts inventory and sells these parts at a reasonable price to those who purchased directly through them. 2nd They are providing a form of a limited warranty by selling these parts at a deeply discounted price. This friend is good customer service. They follow these threads intently. I bet the next generation of these pumps will last longer when used as a wave maker. FS is not a manufacturer...yet But am quite sure they have much leverage with Jebao and other manufacturers. I'm satisfied with what I am getting for my money.

I see GM recalls every night on the news,... you go to your dealership not GM direct. We are on page 186 with 4650 posts most of which seem to be positive. Now mine are not a year old yet, but if I get a year with them before a failure,...at the "price point",...I'm good.:)

I'm torn. On one hand the function and price are excellent. On the other, I HATE buying disposable things. I haven't made my mind up if I'll buy again.

Weekly water change tonight and I realized the wp40 wasnt working. Thats 2 in a little over a year. Controller still light up and buttons work but the pump wont do anything. I've taken them apart and cleaned them. I can get one to spin but as soon as you move it it stops.

Same as mine on 1, the other is completely dead.

Powerful

Powerful

I've had one of these in my 58 gallon and it is almost too strong, if I put it in W1 mode and turn the dial all the way it will splash water out of the tank!:eek1: I've had it for about 5 months now and short of taking the shaft and propeller out to clean it I love it.

Hey guys,...question for you. My 40 had a pin burn off in the screw together connector from the pump to controller(don't know how it happened). Dose anyone know what these 3 pin screw together connectors are called so I could find a replacement pair on ebay.---Thanks,---Rick

I just added a WP-10 to my 29g. It was $39 shipped (Amazon Prime ftw!) and at that price, even assuming a failure a year I'm still several years away from wishing I had bought an MP10. I have a Koralia 425 as a backup and since I can get a new WP-10 to my door in 2 days, no regrets.

You'd need a new wet side on the MP10 by then anyway.

Anyone got a JBWave box?
http://joejaworski.com/jebao/buy.html
Was looking at this thread for hooking it up to my ReefKeeper Elite but have to spend the $ for the APC module then on top of that do the mod for the resistor. Seems like this little box does it all for you and you don't need to worry about all that. Just plug it into one of the outlets in constant mode and you're done.

I just want to know if anyone's had any trouble with it.

There was a buzz about this when it first came put, but from what I remember it wasn't as simple as you make it out to be and it kind of died down when Jebao release their dual pump controller.
