Apex Firmware Update - 4.01 Beta

No Neptune has never released one at all. It is an independent application, made by someone. I just thought if they advertise it, they could adjust the hardware to allow it to work. It is not a must, but would make many current and potential customers more satisfied, even though it is not an obligation.

Theres supposed to be a new one coming out here. In either case I feel it shouldnt be advertised as working when it doesn't.

Yes, what you link to is the iPhone application that is was developed by one of the members in the forum (not associated with Neptune).

I have heard that he is working on an update but as he does not work for, nor is associated with Neptune the information regarding same is limited to what he reports.

I must have misread it, I thought you were implying that a new developer had picked it up. Thanks for clearing it up.

Neptune doesn't advertise it; it is advertised the same as any application by any of the people here. I (also not associated with Neptune, nor work for them) made mention to what I have heard.

I've started a thread in hopes that the person who wrote the iPhone application will see it and update it accordingly.

That wasn't my intention; I was only talking about something I was shown. Hopefully he will see the thread and respond.

Any way to update on a Mac? or must I use windows to update?

You still must use a Windows system. The new uploader will work with MONO and update web pages but the firmware update portion still is non-functional on the MAC.

Im getting an error while updating. I have applied all of the past updates without issues.

Firmware Updated just fine, but the webpages update is giving me an error.

Both the laptop and the APEX are hardwired to the router, PC is in safe mode, I rebooted the APEX after the firmware update, still get an orror when I update the webpages.

Graphing issues seem to be fixed, still would like to see latest 24 hours of data if possible.

If you can, make your laptop use a wireless connection to your router instead of a wired connection. Try and run the webpage update again.

413 means that the Apex couldn't save the file; does it fail in the same place each time? If it does you could try connecting to the Apex using Telnet and deleting the offending file and see if the update works better.

All my settings and programs will not get wiped when I perform a firmware upgrade right?

It should not clear or change your program or settings and in all my testing (of this beta) I have not lost my program but it's always good to save off the program just in case something goes wrong (I usually save the program XML.

WOW,, just lost all my programming. Was getting error above, so tried to reload previous firmware. In doing so it wiped out everything past the modules.asp file. The only way I could get back in was to delete the modules.asp file from the WWW folder then update webpages. Tried to update again after reinstalling the modules.asp file, it gets error 413 again?

Your program is likely still present; just disconnected. Program is stored in a file named outputc.cfg and .bak. When you delete modules.asp you need to delete it on the Apex (web files are in the root of the Apex) and not in the www folder; that could cause loss of data.

At this point I'd suggest contacting neptune and they can help you get things installed correctly.

I had the exact same problem, same file (modules.asp) and this is what corrected it. Don't know why but going wireless did the trick.

I couldnt get it to work.
Switched both the laptop and APEX to wireless - couldnt get it to work.

Switched laptop to hardwired to router, and APEX wireless - starting doing the update and each time it would get an error but on a different file each time. Finally after about 15 or 20 retries, it finally worked.

So, it worked, but I think there need to be some updates to the APEX to make the update process more consistent. Its fine for advanced users, but for most people, its still not quite there.
