Aquascaping, Show your Skills...

My first attempt at aquascaping my new 142g tank. Would welcome feedback as I've never tried aquascaping for a reef before. I apologize for my 11 year old digital camera :P

You did an amazing job aquascaping you tank, it looks like something right off of th ocean reef. what rock are you using and where did you purchase it from?

Wow I love this look! How did you accomplish this? I'm setting up my 220g as we speak and want to try to replicate this look

WoW there's some really cool, sleek, & simple aquascape on this thread. That's the point in a REEF tank with Corals that only need a small footprint to grow out of control...(unless you see my ToadstooL). Less rock = less room for aiptasia to grow, less area for detrius to collect, amazing flow, & crazy coral growth.

This is my aqua-scape make-over on my 6 year old 120 gallon sps reef. This does not take in to account the 30 Lb's of LR coral on the left side in my aquarium covered with LPS & softies.

I read an article that was really cool (by Mike paletta i believe). He said our general instinct is to have everything symmetrical (which is true). On a reef there is no rules and no symmetry. You need to create good places for corals to sit and have an idea of how many corals you can fit. This way you don't have the faster growing corals in the front or blocking light from other corals (because of slope like aquascape).

If I had to do it all over-again this is what I have learned. Aquascaping does not have to be difficult...If you cant work with multiple rocks, just use a few and put the rest of them in your sump. I knew about aquascaping PVC, cable-ties, but did not have the tools and skills required to do that.

I have mostly staghorns and few acropora frags going on the structure below. I will put my 10'' staghorn on the back shelve. This is just a teaser.. :)
