Aquasd sps frag tracker. Post your pics here

+1 for sweetness!

What is that dark spot just above dead center where the vertical growth projects from the plug? Not a redbug, right?

And looking at the pic above, there are a couple questionable spots near the top of the frag.

Ken. Why do you have to do that. I am in denial and refuse to confirm or deny the fw dilemma. I dont wanna know. Pretty urked about the possibilities.

Hey Mike! It's ok. I was thinking redbugs and not fws. And I could be mistaken. But I do see a number of spots, particularly in the 2nd to last shot, that could be rbs. Doesn't mean they are. And definitely not bite marks, and not aefw. None of the pictures I've seen you post suggest to me any aefw infestation. And even if they are rbs, I'd take rbs over aefw all day long.

For the record, the pictures you post suggest me that you run a tight ship, and your corals look good.

The spots that concern me are the ones which are significant yet obviously not coralites with polyps. A puckered polyp can often appear as a dark spot with its tentacles all collapsed together, but it is housed in a coralite. I see 4 or 5 things I'd point my camera at (because I can get a magnified view with my macro lens and software) to see what they were in what must be the top 1/2" of the frag.

I do think that coral is showing tremendous potential for being a stunner, and I don't mean the Hollywood lps kind. I also get a very strong "under leds" thing. Maybe when it grows out some we can see how it does under MHs? ;)

Thank you for the observations. I need to spend some this weekend to see what those dark spots are. Need to read up on red bugs in general too. Lastly, I get the MH suggestion ;)

Here is mine. At least it is not just white any more.

Sounds like a lot of people are seeing bites on their frags, I have the little white patches too, but has anyone seen any of the actual worms? I'm hoping that these are just residual bites. This being my first acro, I'd like it to live.

Woke up this morning to see my frag completely white and dead. Thought I had been doing a decent job of nursing it back as it was starting to get a little color to it. There was some odd marks on it though so who knows. Everything else in the tank is doing great and perameters are totally fine.

I have lots of little white marks on mine too. I can't tell if new ones are appearing or not though. Still brown and sad, but not dead.

Sorry to hear it Steve.

Update on mine looks like all the bite marks are gone, which is a good thing ill have to take a picture to know for sure although it has not colored up at all it seems like I am starting to get a green ring at the base so it is encrusting the plug ill post a quick pick when I get home.

This is one of 2 SPS I have in my tank and it seems to be doing fine. Don't see much polyp extension during the day but I do see it at night. It's seems to have colored up more and is a highlighter yellow color. I'll try and get a picture when I get home.

Mine is Def the strawberry shortcake. Pink tips are starting to show. Has decent Pe nothing spectacular but at least the inch worth of it was saved from death =)..

What's the deal with the talks of getting them replaced? I hope the club got a good deal on them and will at least get some credit towards the next purchase.

We did get a decent and the stuff that died will get replaced. Will seems very easy to deal with and I've talked to him about getting some stuff for the club and he's more than happy to help us out. His one stipulation was that things to home with people and stay in one system the day they are delivered and stay in one system instead of getting bounced around.

I was considering ordering some stuff from him as well so maybe I'll just have him ship to me and I can hold them on racks until the next meet, or if someone else has space and time could receive and hold them for a few weeks to stabilize things before a meet.

One of the hardest deals when getting frags for 30 members of an item descent and uncommon for a club is cost. To get 2 frags for each member gets even harder. The price we paid was far the cheapest. We followed NVR's lead since they get their grow out contest frags from aquasd. We thought of getting colonies ourselves but the cost, time, and headache fragging 60 frags gets difficult. Especially trying to get something nice. Then you have die off, making even sized frags, where would we store it etc.... I think we had 10-15 chalice frags that didn't make it so stuff happens.

I took it upon myself to get the replacement sps (replacement meaning items that died or were severe in damage) since the longer we wait the more of a probability it never happens. Plus $500 to be honest is nothing based in the volume he deals with anyways. I think two members spent that amount last group sale they had we went on. The corals arrived today and are on a rack as we speak. Shipping was not free FYI and I had to add to my order. I only asked for 5 cause i don't count faded corals only items that have died the day of or reported dead the following day. For bit marks individuals have to dip, we don't stress that enough. I got flatworms from someone's frag but that's my fault for not dipping (used to have frag tank not the new tank). I will post pics of what was received on a new thread and individuals can come to grab them.
