AV99's custom 600g Reef Savvy on site build-Lots of pictures

Wow, a 10 year warranty is amazing, Dave! Glad to know you are using the same backup generator as well.

I've got the same generator:) Mine turns on immediately on a power outage. Maintenance by a local generator company and 10 year warranty. Nice to have here where I live because our power goes out way too often, and typically takes a long time to get back on:rolleyes:

Thanks for the nice compliment, Brett! I am a lawyer by trade.

Great thread. Amazing tank!
Sorry if you've already answered this and I missed it. What do you do for a living?

My electrician is still waiting on the permits before starting the installation but some progress was made today.

I have a new level of appreciation for my electrician now (emphasis added)! Always nice to have a backup plan for your new reef project.

What size genset is that? I've been following so many threads, I cant recall if you've mentioned it already or not...apologies.

Thanks for the compliment ... I am getting closer to adding rock and water to the tank as well. I have been cooking over 400 pounds of large Pukani rock in complete darkness for the past few months.

I have that same generator, its great. Go to amazon and order an extra maintenance kit or two and keep oil on hand. Even if you contract with someone for maintenance, want to be prepared just in case there is an extended outage and you need to perform maintenance.

I have not tested for phosphates yet, just doing water changes and occasional dosing. Call it just being crazy busy and/or lazy or both right now. I am operating under the assumption that the rock will leach phosphates for a while and before I transfer the rock to the new display, the plan is to test on a regular basis.

How is the phosphate level on that rock?

Incredible build so far! I have been following this build for a year now. Looks like you are getting close to getting it up and running! I have a whole house generator as well. You will not regret investing into one at all. Remember to set the time for it to start up for when you are normally home. They can be programmed to start up and run for a few minutes once a week. That way you know it is still working in event of a real emergency/ power outage. You will also be the most popular guy in the neighborhood when the power goes out. :) Keep the pics coming.

Sorry for the delayed reply and thank you so much for the amazing compliments and tips for the generator.

It is all coming along and more pictures to follow, I promise!
Rockscaping? Water? Corals?

So here is the back story on why I have not updated this thread in a while. For those who know me well, know that keeping SPS long-term (ie, years) and leaving for vacation takes a lot of planning and work to make sure everything survives without me for up to two weeks at a time.

And this year is no different as I just returned from an amazing 10 day beachfront island vacation. I already miss the amazing views from the past two weeks at Lido Key. When I recover from my beach blues, I will post more coral and build update pictures, no worries.
