Bay Area LFS List! :D

aquarium solutions is closing shop. Everything is taken down.

Amazon Pets in San Jose will be converting to reef soon. (Camden and Branham)

I was very much unimpressed with Aquatic Life Forms. The tanks were mostly empty and the "saltwater section" was nothing to speak of. They had almost no dry goods. They made Fish Tank look well stocked.

I used to work at the McCloud's in Newark in the Fishroom. Good times! I miss that place. Anyone remember Ron the manager there? He was a hoot. :D

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Seascapes was a nice store. Today, it's just not worth visiting for a serious reefkeeper. I like going to Natural Life Aquarium on this side of the bay and if I feel like making a trip, I'll go to Aquatic Gallery. When I first started in 1997, T&T in San Jose was an interesting place to visit. I liked the Wiener Schnitzel across the street. I haven't been there for awhile though. I miss McCloud's. Anyone here have some good history on that line of shops?

T&T is still there and IMO still is a damn good looking place. His quality of coral are pretty healthy. His reef tanks are awesome to look at and my kids love it. Prices for his fish are very competitive. IMO, his coral to me is pretty high.

im not a big fan of world of pets, the guy there was an *** to me when i asked him about starting a salt tank, plus they have an awfull selection of corals, though they do go through alot of fish! right across the street from them is a place that i HIGHLY recomend! SEA SPLENDOR AQUARIUM. 707-426-6622... thoes are the folks that helped me get into reefing, and continue to give me useful advice, and much support... they always have a great selection of corals, and fish. also a wide veriety of fresh water too. if there is anything you have had trouble getting, all you need to do is ask them, they can pretty much order you anything you want. thats my store of choice, and is where i do all my buying. if ever in the area of fairfield, you should stop by, but not on mondays, because their closed...

chrismunn...you need to get out of the vv/ff area man! all of the stores in the bay area are much nicer than sea splendor. the only person in the store who remotely has a clue about what they are doing is evan. one of the guys used to work at petco and kept a 20g tank with some ridiculous number of large fish in it. something like a purple tang, a niger trigger, a humahuma trigger and a batfish(i can't remember this was about 9 months ago that he said this). all i know is that i wouldn't trust any of the people there except for evan.

 This moderator is looking but unfortunately I have no power in the club forums. To get the attention of one that does, all you have to do is look at the top of the forum and notice who is listed in the "Moderated by:" line. Then send a PM to one of them asking for the thread to be made a sticky.
