I've never been to Rohrbach's downtown but I'd like to go someday.

Score yourself some bonus points and take the fam to the market on saturday. Then happen to wander down Railroad St to the brewery for samples, a tour, and a growler or two....
 
Decided to give dogfish head palo santo marron a try. Not sure yet. Hate to say, but I'm not much of a beer guy. Thought I'd be adventurous.

Sierra Nevada special edition for 2011, Hoptimum. A teeny Tad bit sweet which I don't favor, but overall super Hoppy delightful.

I really am such a Sierra Homer, but proud of it. Solid brewery all around!
 
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid is like my Ace in the Hole, when I deserve a treat beer. Lagunitas IPA has got to be in my top 3. Love their stuff :inlove::inlove::inlove:
 
Just finishing up a sixxer of souther tiers 2xIpa and I'm really impressed! Just the right mix of malt and hops. They def have dogfish head beat IMO.
 
Just found this thread and have read a few pages. Looks great. Has anyone every had anything from the Atlantic Brewing Co. there located in Bar Harbor, ME. They have an great beer called S.O.B. Special Old Bitter. it was great at the tasting and bout a case to bring home with me. Haven't looked around yet to see if anyone sells it around here but it was a great little brewery and the tour and tasting was really fun. They take you all around the brewery.
 
Vince, I haven't been there in years, but we go to ABC whenever we camp at Acadia. My wife LOVES their blueberry ale.

Not sure about distribution around here. I'd be surprised if it was.
 
They said they had kegs sent down the east coast as far as NC but I haven't seen it in any bar I have been to. Yea my wife liked the blueberry ale as well. The first time I was there was on our honeymoon, lol, best brewery tour I've been to.

FWIW dinner @ Rohrbach's last night was great. Quick true story:
My buddy's brother owns the Gardner Al House in Gardner, MA.
The friends we had dinner with last night at Rohrbach's just happened to be the Gardner's so imagine their surprise when I presented them with a growler of 'Gardner Ale'!

Dogfish Head IPA 60 was good but I still like Sierra Nevada better- I'll have to look for 'Hoptimum' but I really need to score a case of 'Celebration 2010' before it disappears. IMO SN beers are so drinkable it's not funny.

Anyways.... you guys know I used to like LaBatt's Blue but I don't think a 'Blue' would be my first choice nowadays. Thanks! :beer:

I keep going back to Sierra Nevada's Torpedo. Walter, I have you to thank for the introduction. It is quite simply my favorite. Lagunitas IPA has got to be #2. But man, for my taste buds, you just can't beat a Torpedo!!!
 
Any one have the New Guinness? It is Foreign Extra Stout, soooo much better than regular extra stout. It is like Guinness but hoppy. There is also a very interesting story about it too. During prohibition in the 1920's they stopped selling in the USA. So 90 years later on Oct 1st 2010 they rereleased Guinness Foreign Extra Stout to the US. Very tasty a must try.

It's weird. I bought it because it was supposed to be a bit sour, but it wasn't balanced for an old ale, if that's what they were going for. Tasty, but not a real olde ale.
 
I loved it. I am also a big guinness drinker tho. But the hops just push it over the top for me. The best of both worlds, for me anyways. I don't think they are going for an olde ale with it tho, it is a bitter sweeter, not sour at all. But it isn't a new beer it has been sold in Europe and Africa since the 1800's.

the brewmaster at breckenridge is a very cool dude. gave my wife and i a card that let us have a free beer anytime at the pub. always stopped in after snowboarding the mtn. they had the best nacho's on earth. the alcohol really kicks in at altitude.
 
When I was at Breckenridge, Vail, and A-Basin, we took acetezolemide to avoid altitude sickness. Worked like a charm BUT it kills the taste of carbonated beverages. Particularly beer. Next time, I'll take my chances.

My wife had an early flight this AM, so I started brewing at 5:15 this morning. I put10 gallons of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone in the fermentors and was cleaned up by 10:30 AM.
