beer thread

Settled for a little magic hat last night. Jurys still out.

My brother-in-law loves Magic Hat #9. I find that stuff UNDRINKABLE. If its the only beer in the house, I either drink nothing, or head out to the store. I have a few in the fridge as we speak. It might as well be canned sardines. Yech!

Can't do it man. I've been desperate enough to crack one and I never finish it. To each his own, but I think its absolutely brutal.

So I can't get the 120 IPA down here any places up there have it? They said they wont have it for a while cause they dumped a batch.

Cully loved the Hop Stoopid looking for more recommendations. Thanks

I tried a Magic Hat #9 and I didn't care for it at all.
Dogfishhead 60 IPA was doable but not worth the price IMO.
Still looking for Hop Stoopid and a first visit to Beers of the World.

My schedule is so busy that I don't get to sample much beer on any given week so the suggestions I've gotten in this thread really help me to avoid mistakes.

FWIW I once tried a Foster's Lagar and I didn't care for it.
I tasted Mexican beers like Tecate, Dos Equis, Corona etc. well before they became the "in" thing and I don't care for those, either.

Love the the DH 90 min...found at CDGA Wegos...also last few weeks been getting the MH Spring Sampler...comes with Circus Boy, Demo (very dark), Vinyl and #9's. LOVE 'EM!!!

Summertime, I love Coronas but I drink waaay too many of em. I like the hardier stuff the rest of the year. Made a special stop to get some Torpedo tonight. A sip of it is like a hug from an old friend....or old hot girlfriend....

Tried Greatlakes Burning river PA, pleasantly surprised. Pretty tasty. Had another impromptu tasting last Saturday that left me in a knot on Sunday. I have to go through the empties to pick out some notables.

Tried to fond the Otter Creek Walter mentioned above. No luck yet.

Gary, Hop Stoopid is in larger bottles. Don't drink more than 2. Between the stuttering and stammering and the gut ache 2 is the Max. But the taste is a true delight for hop heads!

I adore DFH 60. One of my faves.

I've been drinking a Blonde ale I brewed. (going to enter it in the upcoming UNYHA competition if I don't drink it all...) I just polished off the last of a British Mild I brewed. I wanted to make room for the Sierra Nevada clone I brewed. It tastes a bit lighter than the commercial version, which makes it a little too drinkable.

I had Arrogant B@stard for the first time the other night. It was good, but I can't see drinking more than a bomber's worth in a single sitting. It packs a whallop.

Tonight will be Rogue Dead Guy ale with my pizza and several homebrews. The brake job on my wife's van can wait until tomorrow.

I brewed a hard cider in the fall. It still doesn't taste great to me though. I enjoy Doc's and Magners, but something is up with this. It has a decent aftertaste, but the first taste of every drink is off to me. I don't know if it's really alcoholic or what is up with it, but it looks great! It even has some decent carbonation to it. I'm excited to try it again in the fall.

Forgive the fuzzy picture, but you get the idea.

Heavy Seas mixer pack is one of my favorites right now....though it's a bit pricey for a 12 pack. Totally worth it though. I'm not a huge Sam Adams fan, but their spring mixer isn't too bad either....and at $13, the price isn't too bad either!

Oh hard cider, had many an interesting party in college when we fueled it with homemade hard cider rather than beer. Maybe I will do it again this .

Posting this from San Francisco: Enjoying my first taste of Pliny. It's darn good. If you like DFH, you'll like this.

Can't bring any home though. I didn't check any bags. Sorry Walter...
