beer thread

Brand new to brewing. First batch (Caribou Slobber) in secondary fermentation and second batch (White House Honey Ale) in primary fermentation.

What forums (like RC) do you guys like for beer brewing info?

I normally frequent homebrewtalk, but also hit Northernbrewer.com which has a a decent forun along with brewboard on occasion

http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php has some good references and forum too.

http://www.unyha.com/ is the local Rochester club site, which is finally getting a revamp, but has the pertinent info for meetings which are on the second Wednesday of each month at Merchants Grille.

I got to crack open a White House Honey Ale this evening. Not too bad, but it still needs to sit in the bottle for a while. It's only been two weeks. I bought the kit from Northern Brewer.

Nice to see the support. I work for North American Breweries, we own Genesee, Labatt USA, Magic Hat and Pyramid among others.

Generally I've been drinking whatever my bar tender tells me. He has been great so far but i never remember the names. As for beer i can remember i suggest most of the magic hat line, sapparo, or blue moon. But the best beer ive had in awhile is one with 4 vikings in a long boat. Maudite or something like that. Also Blue Point makes the best blueberry ale i've ever had and you can't beat crispen for hard cider.

For what its worth . the ellicotville / Olean area is becoming a small batch brewery haven. Eville has the evile brewery and many of the bars do craft brews and Olean has a new brewery named The Four Mile Brewery . If one was to be in the area its worth checking out. Many tasty ales, pilsners and craft brew etc.

I love my craft beer and have been brewing for about 4 years now. Finally getting pretty good at it. I agree with the Blue Monk comment. I love the selection and it is always changing. And the food there is pretty damn good also. Gotta try the duck frites and if you like mussels the delirium tremens is awesome.

I'm not a huge fan of Belgian beers, but received this as a gift some time ago:

Cracked her open tonight. It is doubtful that I'll make it through the whole thing.

11.4% ABV :twitch:

EDIT: Just noticed the cat licking her moot in the background. Classy.
