"Best of" FO's (since we don't get TOTM's)

I don't think I've ever contributed to this awesome thread. Here's a few. Some are old pics.

Yeah, sweet thread, glad its back. There was talk of making a FO TOTM or something of the sort. Does anyone know if anything is in the works? Would be pretty awesome wouldn't it? ;)
Keep the pics coming!

What skimmers are ya'll using on your 350+ gallon FOWLR tanks as I am getting stumped on what to use for mine which will end up being around 450?

What are the demensions of your tank jmccown?

I use a MRC skimmer, but I use it kinda sparingly. To tell you the truth I think with the water changes I do and the evaporation replacement I could probably have no problem not using a skimmer. I water change 40 Gals 2x a month and replace evaporate 10 Gal a Week.

The water top offs does not change the amount of organics/waste in the tank.

You are correct. However it does help by diluting it. And the water changes help reduce the organics quite a bit. It is consistency. My skimmer will only produce a small amount weekly and when I do changes it produces even less. I have a FOWLR with softies and Anemones and all are doing well

How does top off dilute it? If you have a certain amount of waste in the tank, you lose water only to evap, therefor the percentage of waste/water increases, until you add the top off water back in, bringing it back to where it was before. There is no diluting though. Only water changes or skimming will do that.

You are correct. It should say it keeps it at the same dilution. Until Consistent water changes remove it. :)
