Best stores on the island

if anyone here visits fishtown and sees wild colonies they want but cant afford let me know ill split it with you and we each take a half.. PM
 
It would be nice to go into CC and instead of buying the colony, just buy part of it.
Kind of like buying a slice instead of the whole pie... Now I'm hungry.
 
Places like CC make money because of Joes like me starting the hobby and not knowing any better on where to go. I started in December and I'm totally addicted. I went to CC because they "LOOKED" the best. $5k later I learned. It's that simple. People will pay because they don't know any better. AH is 2 miles away from me but I avoided it til recently because it didn't look professional. Very random as far as what's available. I just recently discovered PW and I think it's an acceptable compromise for me regarding price compared to CC and selection. So even though I don't go to CC anymore they got me for several $k. And when I'm there I always see people like me who ask tons of questions because they are new and eat up there info and build a trust. So talk about overhead, competition from large retailers, margins, what's in front and what's in back don't me jack! 8)
 
Heh, you ain't lived brother until you've been to Aquarium Adventure in Carle Place. You could've been ripped for even more at that place.

Kind of like CC, but a lot more expensive...:rolleyes:

Well, then you have your homework cut out for you. Be sure to find something in the area to do, because you won't be spending any money there.;)

Reef Junkie, I finally bought an item from AA, had to since a friend gave me a gift card for x-mas. Damn people robbed me, or should I say my friend:lol:.
 
Nope, work next to Islip airport at the New York Air Route Traffic Control Center, NYARTCC for short. I work the high altitude aircraft over NY, PA, NJ and various other spots.
 
Umm, I thought you were someone else I know.. I thought there was talk of you guys being consolidated into another facility with the new FAA head.

chris ill be in the area friday if you will be around at like 3or so i can stop by ill be in hewlett for a doctors apt about 1 and not sure how long it will be

I've only been to CC twice - and I could not believe their prices although they had a great selection of reef fish and a nice presentation.

Suffolk Fish and Reef has a nice presentation and their prices are a little expensive. Not a great selection yet but they are young.

I live 1.5 miles from AH - poor presentation, good prices and nice employees (for a LFS).

Has anyone heard from K - or is he out of the picture now? I miss his "." :lol:
 
K is doing good I met him on the street in the city last week. seems he works right across the street from were I work. Tried to talk him into coming back. I sure hope Bill's correct but I don't know K's a hard guy to read. :D
 
Well- he sold of his llivestock - but I dont think the drygoods went up for sale ever --- either he really has no time - or mayeb he's keeping it just in case...
