Best stores on the island

Ive had good experiences with PW. I think their quality is prestine. The dont net their fish and always fill the bags with pure oxygen that alone should show you that they have customer service at the top of their list. Furthermore if you mention that your a member of LIRA they give a 10% discount.

my 2 cents,
Erik

its not directed as positive or negative towards either.

fishtown many times gets large shipments from common places and their prices become rock bottom with hit or miss fish. other times they will step it up a notch to PW shipping locations, bali, australia, and others, their prices will skyrocket far too high though.

At first I thought, oh no here goes a flaming thread, but actually there is a lot of relevant and important info here. So what about corals and their origins/prices/survival rates, etc? Any opinions?

My comment was not intended to be a shot a
PW.It's actually the best LFS around.Prices are usually good too.
It just that you asked for an example of high prices. My apologies for not knowing the facts behind the origin.
I guess I have a prize specimen...
Fishtown USA-I always ask myself why did I bother?

while we're on this topic.. I'm looking for a carpet anemone, haddoni, possibly a small 2-3" specimen for less than 50. Have you guys ever seen this anywhere on the island?

Hi, I'm new here tho not to reef tanks.

I didn't know about this forum until hearing about it visiting Fishy a while back.

I have a question for keefsama2003,

You are so obsessed you even have the store name in your avatar, are you an employee or what...

I've been there it's an ok store but ...............

I agree Fish Town and Aquahut are about on the same level,

AH has no phone the inventory is sporadic, the store is run down, the rust is unbelievable for a retail store and also poorly organized supply section. I saw a post a while back that used the "sanford & son" line not far off.

Fish Town is better as far as presentation the tanks are clean, but anything there must be quarantined for 30 days, when a shipment comes in they are put in tanks with a shoehorn.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll stick with Fishy, Pets Warehouse & Critters.

Ah prices have been going up $145 for a pink tip 6 inch Elegance, fish prices are average but fish are clean. Fish town coral prices are the best and are sometimes priced in the customers favor, 10 big orange Ricordea $45 picked that one quick. Fish on the other hand ick city. critters fish are the most colorful I have seen prices are higher, The corals are plentiful prices are off the chart for any thing worth owning but they always through in a bonus a few flat worms for your pleasure. Fishy never been there but I here it is nice.

Just got to make a couple of RC moderator comments to keep us commercial folks in line ;)

Bob,

Mentioning prices (even though Sci asked a general price question) is something we have to refrain from doing as commercial members ;)

Keith,

Now that you are doing work for Fishy, you have crossed into the commercial category yourself. As such you need to refrain posting things like Fishy has such and such in stock ;)

Wow 31 posts already, I ended up going to Country Critters. Store was nice, I loved the giant fresh water tank at the door. I wasn't to impressed with the corals. Besides being way overpriced, the acros's were crap and nothing is labled. I stopped off at pets warehouse on the way home. Excellent fish, huge selection and low noticable disease. The corals completely turned me off. Most things were priced wrong, not priced, spelled wrong. and again the acros were brown or dead.

Hey Neuro, have you uncovered a troll?

He wants the guys that markup the tanks to be prefcet sepllesr?

Most pet store opraters hve a asters in enlish literature

Maybe he can shop at Atlantis, or are those corals dead too?

CC's has a decent selection, especially when it comes to fish, but...
Visited a few weeks ago and in a couple of their tanks were Nudi's eating polyps. So be careful!

Hehe, nice one bobby/brad.;)
Yeah, can't say anything about PW. Good prices, nice selection.

The reef section was greatly improved from last year, looks good.
