Birds

I'm amazed how well this 100-400 performs... I took these pictures handheld at dusk, I mean it was really getting dark and they still turned out good. I had to lighten them up some in Photoshop but still, the results are way better than any of my other lenses would have produced.

You can tell I had a slow shutter speed, this guys beat blurred and he was barely barely moving :)

The Chikadee I know, the other I have no idea. It does peck at the bark quite a bit though....

Needed to shoot at ISO 800. These critters were lurking in the branches and it was quite overcast too.

Recty, why not crop that some? You got some great background colors going on. Why keep that trunk and all the branch stuff on the left?

I probably should :) That's just my default resize to 800x533 because I was in a rush in Florida and doing a batch conversion of all my stuff. I'll crop it and repost.

Grant - WAY better.... What is all that vivid color in the background coming from anyway?

Wow.. great stuff Grant! That last Florida batch is lovely. Great colors all around. I REALLY like all the texture you captured in #3.
I'm also enjoying how the soft lighting blends with the background of the last image. That color combination is stunning.
Thanks for sharing.
