make sure rock is nice and wet, never use hammer action on your drill. Always drill hole slightly larger than your structure holding rods.....

Thanks tahiriqbal. I wondered if drilling wet would prevent chipping, cracking and breaking of the rock. However, working with dry rock does sound easier.

I believe masonry bits have a larger diameter head for boring slightly larger than rated holes. Did that make sense? :o I'll measure them to be sure.

Is that a new black tang I see?

Also love the tank but can I just ask which fish you have lost in this tank. After reading from the start I remember a clown tang as well?

You must be mistaken the Sohal tang for a clown. That along with the yellow tang, mystery wrasse and a blueface angel was sold and replaced with the fishes I have today. Also that is a new black tang that replaced the one that passed.

Crazy4Acros,

I don't suppose you could let us have a peek at how the frag tank is doing - I'm curious to see the months of growth in that little raceway!

love the graceful and well balanced scaping, btw :)

My frag tank has grown a bit itself LOL The little tank i had under the stand was great for just a few frags but it got crowded real quick as the frags grew! i built a little tank with the same length and height but wider and placed it along side with the display.

Absolutely amazing tank. One of my favourites. Would you mind telling me your current fish stocklist and whether or not you see any aggression with those blotchy anthias specifically towards the smaller fish (maybe they're all cardinals in there)?

Currently i have,
10 Blue eye/streak/threadfin cardinals or (Apogon Leptacenthus)
2 Red spot cardinals or (Apogon Parvalus)
2 Blotched Anthia or (Holanthias borbonius)
1 Black Tang or (Zebrasoma Rostratum)

The Anthias are semi aggressive towards the cardinals especially during feeding, i have lost 2 Red Spots carpet surfing and suspect that it's due to the Anthias.

Guys the sand gets vacuumed with a gravel cleaner at every water change monthly. Tank gets topped off with new sand 8-12 months to replenish whatever gets lost during water changes. Carbon Dosing also aids in keeping my sand white.
