Fantastic video buddy, absolutely loved it. Your SPS reef is looking bloody amazing mate, the fish just top the whole color bomb display off - you should be very proud of what you're accomplishing Conor.......Soon as your display hits 1 year it's fair game for TOTM nomination imho :)

^ I'm thinking this way as well.

Thanks so much for the amazing compliment. When I look at my tank (which I probably do way too much) I feel it has a long way to go before my vision for it has been met. There are still a bunch of small corals and I just can't seem to get the color out of some of them that I want. But thank you!

PS, biggles... I want that yellow acro!!!

Can't wait to see it. I've been so swamped with work...ugh. I will make over there one of these days, promise!!!

I'd have to say your tank is my inspiration for sure very beautiful and colorful. Remember in have the same size tank and I look at the size corals you have and the colors and I'm amazed. Your doing everything right and have the balance in that tank perfect. Here is my tank slowly growing into a mature tank.

I've been busy as well. You are always welcome to come check it out. Let me know when things slow down a little and we'll make it happen.

Thanks! Your tank is looking awesome! You are doing a great job. I've had a bunch of ups and downs with any tank I've had including this one, you just gotta keep moving forward.

I guarantee I'd turn it green. Yellow is such a tough color, except with a coral like pink lemonade. I saw a coral in a thread, I think it's called "the farm" and I believe it's in Aus. They have an amazing yellow acro.
Love the new vid! Your fish are so active and the corals are looking great too. :)
Appreciate it Myka!

Hey buddy, can you share the whole recipe please? I've been meaning to make my own for a while but never bothered as I'm not sure what to put in, how much etc. Thanks.

I think it's safe to say that most reefer's fish eat a heck of a lot better than we do!! haha looks like a fantastic meal coming up!:eek1:
I think you are right! My fish and dog eat better than I do. My fiancé has also commented on that, haha.
Nice mix! I make my own fish food too. :)
I thought you might Myka. I feel it's just as good, if not better than commercial frozen foods and for me, it's less than half the cost. My fish go the craziest for my homemade blend and also for live black worms.

I actually don't have a strict recipe that I follow. I just get whatever shellfish is good at my local market. It changes each time I make it. I don't blend it, I just put it all in a plastic bag and flatten it and then freeze it. I break off chunks and cut those up before feeding. My corals show a good feeding response as well when I do this. I sometimes add squid, shrimp, and various fish. But I always use what I pictured, which is clams, oysters, and mussels.

In addition to this I also rotate feeding these daily:
PE Mysis
Spirulina Brine
ROE
California live black worms (everyday)
Nori (everyday)

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it was around $50 for 5 lbs of food the last time I made a batch, and aside from the Garlic Extreme and Vitamin mix, my whole recipe is human grade, so I'm certainly confident that my mix is better than anything else on the market. Yours too. :) I'm down to the last two 8 ounce packs now, so I'll be making another batch soon. I feed live blackworms sometimes too, but they've been coming in in poor condition lately.

Need some t5 bulb combo advice.
Have:
4 blue+
3 coral+
1 aquablue special

I am getting rid of the aquablue special bulb. Too white.
Should I replace it with an actinic bulb? Any other suggestions to get me to a 20k look. Thanks!

I think an actinic would be good, but your overall color tone will shift a lot. That's not a bad thing, but it will take a little time to get used to. The ATI actinic is brighter by far than the giesemann.

Cool, I appreciate your thoughts. I'm gonna go grab one and see how it looks.

Do you think I should try to incorporate a purple+ or does the coral+ have enough pink in it?

If you went with 5 blue, two coral and one purple, then yes. Three coral and one purple with 4 blue is too much red I think. I think of coral plus as "1/2" a purple bulb. 4 coral and 4 blue plus is also supposed to be a good mix.
On an 8 bulb unit I like exactly two purple bulbs, 6 blue especially when using Fiji Purple or Aqaupink.
