I was trouble as how to clean my light and for the first 3 times I turned it off and pulled out the protective shield.
wet down some paper towel and wipe the salt off then pick up the torn up paper towel.
I found a better way and works just as fast if not faster.
Leave unit turned on.
Use a new paint brush or a foam paint brush and wet down the dried on salt then use paper to wipe away the debris and the paper towel will not fall apart!
