Coming back after 15 years...

Floor slab is in, perfectly level in both directions. Wall slab will go in next week. I had them laminate a piece 1/4" higher around the perimeter & cut a trough in the middle. I notched the bottom plate to align with the trough. I'll waterproof & silicone the wood plate, if anything ever leaks it will hit the slab & eventually make it's way to the trough, through the wall, directly into the floor drain. And it's going to look nice too!

Forgot to mention. A buddy came over today to help hang the lights. We laid it out with a laser & we were ready with toggle bolts but we got very lucky. There is a floor joist dead center where we drilled all the holes! 😃

Tank on stand. Bit of a plumbing snafu, missing some parts. Finish up tomorrow or Monday.

First wow on the stand. Sorry if i missed it, but what under tank lights did you go with? And is the stand 80/20 aluminum?

Also, I believe those sleeves are anemone guards for the gyre.

Thank you! The slabs add a nice touch to the overall look. Working for a stone fabrication company has its perks! Those slabs are white quartz. Our guy ordered the wrong slabs for a job. The entire job got cut & installed before anyone realized they were wrong. So we had to replace. I saw them sitting in the shop after they came back & a light bulb went off in my head on what I could use those for! The base has a piece laminated to the sides 1/4" higher & I had them hog out a trough - you can see it in some pics above. Then I notched the bottom stud & waterproofed it. I poured 2 gallons of water on it & it worked perfectly! All of it ran through the wall onto the concrete floor on the other side & right down the floor drain 😃

The under tank lights are Govee Down Lights I got off of Amazon. They were super fast & easy to install & the perfect length - 16ft string.

The actual stand is the one that came with the Innovative Marine tank. It's aluminum.

And yes I think you are correct on those sleeves! Makes perfect sense! And I will have an anemone! Ritteri nem & a mated pair of Blue Stripe Clarkii's is the goal.

Up & running! Finally! I'll try to get some of my cured rock in this weekend. Tweeked my knee & it's swollen up the size of a football, so we'll have to see, may need to rest it. Doc is going to drain it tomorrow.
