Concrete's 120 Tech, 200g system in the works

I'm getting aggravated w/ my sand.. No matter what direction or where I put my 6101 it seems to blow everywhere... I'm really thinking about removing it and running a RDSB- Or putting about 8" of it in my Refugium.

RDSB FTW,

I went to check out Devilboys 90g yesterday and his sand was blowing around everywhere no matter what we did with the pumps, he is going to turn his fuge into a RDSB i think and get the sand out of the display.

Jeff, I experienced the same thing in the early stages of my tank setup. Once your sandbed matures a bit, the sand will stop blowing around.

I am thinking of removing my sand also. I am thinking it is more of a P.I.T.A. than its worth. I already have a DSB in my fuge and may get deeper in a few days.

What about a pair of solid black clowns?? Whatcha think Nick.. or should i wait for Rod?

rods come really small, like fingernail sized, you will have a couple months of fattening them up in a frag tank or sump before they are ready for the high flow display tank.

if you get the blacks now you can always put them in the frag tank when you get your rods big enough which will take a while, but i would say get the blacks now and order a pair of rods when they become available,

Devilboy has a a baby he got 2 months ago from rod and it is really small looking in his display.

Can't do that :( I have my 12yr old Clarki in the Frag tank... He is my "guard dog" lol. I just can't get rid of her- I've had it for almost 7 yrs and my brother had her the first 5..

My Fuge is pretty big- 12"x20" I could always put them in there...
Or....

I'm really thinking about adding another Tank to my setup- A 36"x20"x20". Light it with a 4xT5 HO retro, add some sand & put a pair of clowns in there w/ a nice RBTA.

fuge works too, 12 YO clarki, Coool :)

small cubes make make nice anemone species tanks that way you dont need an anemone in the SPS dominated display

cant imagine whats going to happen when I add another 6101..

Yeah, That's what I'm thinking... At least my pillars have a stand holding them up (no rocks will fall)- so I don't have to take everything out & put starboard down. Just leave the glass bare..

I even modded my Tunze- cut every 3rd bar off the shroud..

What about adding some crushed coral- Is that ok?

Cube sounds cool.. 24"x24"x24" 3/4" Acrylic... Nice... 6x T5's :)

I used to think CC=nitrates out of control but these days i would not worry about it too much lots of ZEO tanks use the heavy grade CC for their substrate.

carbon dosing not just zeo seems to be quite capable of removing extra organics if needed
