DanW's 187 SPS Dominated Reef Journal

Dan, when taking pictures today, I'd really like to see the Loveli from cfm, if possible. I got mine the same day, it doesn't look like it has grown much, but it is startng to encrust the frag plug and the coralites are turning a little more turquoise.
Sorry Ryan, tried to get a shot of the lovelli but it's towards the back of the tank and a snail was right in front of it. I didn't feel like sticking my hand in the tank. My frag has darkened considerably, not brown but a really dark blue. Some encrusting and the ends are showing some blue. At least I hope it's blue and not white skeleton that looks blue under my lights!

Great pics Dan. The params looks really good too, the po4 shouldn't be a big deal, but you'll take care of that anyway. You should be on your way to recovery soon. I know when I had issues, not all corals are effected as well. I think some are just more sensitive than others. The pic of the Setosa is painful, that must have been beautiful just before it took a hit.

Sorry to see it's still going now. It might be to the point to frag the Setosa into some good tissue and mount it on a couple of plugs. I did this when I had issues like this in the past and there was always one or two that made it.

Thanks Brian and you're right, I will frag it this weekend or sooner if I have time.

Dan, your FTS looks great as always. Its always amazing to see how huge those LE colonies are. Im happy to see that things are getting better in your tank. Its pretty sad to see that picture of your Setosa though :(

Thanks Ramzy, keeping the picture far away and out of focus does wonders.:p

Hey, thats my trick :twitch:

Dan, I am sure you have already checked, but Is there any place where screws may be rusting into the tank or the like? Are you running a polyfilter?

Mark, thanks for the thought. I ordered some Poly Filter so it will go in this week. I will take a look in the sump this weekend to see if I find any foreign objects. With two munchkins you never know what may have happened.

Dang, that looks better than my colony right now. A lot of my chalice collection has faded in color. Don't know if it was the added lighting or poor water quality the past month.
