Great movie... for those that didn't see it around the 5-min mark

"swabbie" the deck mate!!! I want one too!! We all would like our skimmers to work better!
DING DING DING Winner, winner chicken dinner. Not sure if it works or not but it's a cool gadget. I must say that it's made really, really well and it is wiping the sides clean. Also, it doesn't appear to effect the bubble column at all.

haha I knew it would be the swabbie! It was only a matter of time until you got one  Let us know how it works out for you!

That is pimp and I want one bad for my alpha 300
Thanks, given the price compared to the BK Skim Clean I thought that it was a good gamble.

Will do.

Very nice new toy Dan
Thanks Mark just another new gadget to mess around with while wifey looks at me like this:  I told her that it would help elimiate the skimmate smell when I clean the cup.

Now if only they make one that will keep our car windshields spotless, that would be ultimately cool.
Aren't those called windshield wipers

You posted on the wrong thread again Brian. Reefing wise I'm just :jester: that likes gadgets. Every time I look at my tank I'm amazed that everything is still alive. Although I'm having issues with two of my longest tenured pieces :(

Oh no!!! :eek2:

What's happening now, Dan? Which pieces are having issues?

I've got STN on 3 pieces and strangely they are all purple. Bali-Tri, GARF and a purple valida are all losing tissue from the base up. The odd thing is that the Bali-Tri is showing good growth tips and PE. It started a few weeks after I re-started the kalk reactor so I shut it off again and the STN seems to have slowed (but not completely stopped). I'm planning on doing a large WC this weekend to see if that helps. I'm hoping that it's the kalk although I don't (didn't) dose much and only opposite the light cycle :(

Dang, that sucks dude. I also had some STN issues that took out my large Pink Jade colony about a month ago. The thing is that I've always dose kalk. Sometimes I think that I don't have enough flow in my tank so I am contemplating adding another 6105.

I don't think that flow is my issue. That being said I'm contemplating swapping positions the 6105s and the Vortechs. Vortechs are currently in the front but if I put the 6105s there I can aim them at the corals across the tank. What I’m concerned about is that since my rock structure is pretty high that although the Vortechs have a wide flow it could really blast the corals near the back.

What Kalk product do you use? Just curious is all as I've recently switched what I had been using and I've got some stn going on some of my acros. Could be all of the changes I made, so I can't exactly pinpoint anything other than simply "change"!

Good luck Dan. Let me know on the kalk thing. I've debated about finally adding kalk to my tank :eek1:

Sorry to hear of your new troubles Big Dan :(

I lost a few pieces a few months back and it always seems to happen when I'm feeling confident in the tank. Right when I'm admiring how clean and happy everything looks one of my faves is peeling

I was dosing a few zeo products with the Prodibio and I"m now convinced that I just need to stick to water changes, skimming, cal/alk/mag and I'll also continue the Prodi.

Are you going to Richard's swap/party?

Dan, I feel your pain. Recently I had to cut up my 10" blue tort. If it one thing it's another with this hobby.
