Deep Down Florida 600 Gallon In-Wall Build

Come on Bill, my back is finally back in place after moving that darn monster. It should have water already...:fun4:

So I began planning the stand for this tank. Since things are going to be done in pieces I needed to visualize all of the different components.
Doing the stand in google sketch up allows me to measure all the wood as well as visualize the available space for my sump.

Looks like the area for my sump will accommodate a size 86"L x 29"W x 35"H.
Although I will only go 20"H, the other specs are probably be where I make my sump to fit.

How are you going to screw these pieces in ? I think you will have to stagger them.

And the ledge will stand on what to support it ?

Good catch on the two circled pieces. I will make that change. Thank you.
The extension is simply an open ledge for equipment and also so I could stand on the work on the inside of the tank.
The tank itself will not come out that far.

A feature I wish I had done....Melev of melevsreef had a cool feature I wish I had done. He built "pockets" in his stand that allowed him to add a plank or extension to walk around. For ease of reaching/working into tank.

Always looking for the credit. Lol
Just kidding
Thank you Matt for giving me the idea.
About time you made a comment on my build thread.

Lol only for you buddy ol pal ....its coming along nicely...can't wait for things to progress.....you have to remember though it was your first tank that inspired me to place mine in the wall .....

Where are you planning on installing the sump on top of ?
I built my stand similar to your design. The problem is I installed sump on the floor which is very Uneven.

I would install cross members with plywood and make them even with the stand this way when you level stand both tank and sump will be level

It doesn't show but it will lay plywood on the bottom and sit the sump on top of that.

Ok sounds good. make sure you have enough support for that monster sump. As my oceanic stand for my 135 didn't have enough support and after a few years of getting wet and having the weight of the sump it sagged like crazy

sorry about my not so straight lines.

Thank you for your thoughts. This is definitely still a work in progress.
I just finished talking this over with mrx66699 and there may be more modifications to come.
