Deeznutz Hd 120 Shallow rimless (Pics)

Your photography skills are amazing, what are you using to shoot?

Thank you for your compliments. These shots are mainly grab the camera and shutter bomb. Nothing really set up for quality pics except for proper exposure +1ev. At least not yet :)

As for the gear, I'm using a Canon 5dmk2 and with the following lens
24-105L f4
100mm macro f2.8
50mm f1.4

I wish I could pick up a 70-200L :)

And what do you think of Nikon? :)

What's that? lol.

My bros a Nikon guy, he hates Canon. I'm not sure why, he's no good with neither :loll:

Obviously Nikon makes great cameras and lenses. When I got into it I had the hardest time deciding which to go with. Ended up choosing the Canon because I preferred the way the grip felt compared to the Nikon. PLUS CANONS ARE BETTER ANYWAYS.:lmao:

Nice :)

I'm a former Nikon guy, sold all my gear a few years ago and tried to make do with a Sony NEX. But there are no decent macros for this thing and I need to take photos of my corals. So I'm back to the whole Canon vs Nikon dilemma. Nikkor 105 mm 2.8 macro was the best lens I've ever used.

Thanks! Maybe you can come over for a photo shoot. :)

Meanwhile, would you recommend going full frame or cropped for coral photography?

Yeah I'd love to come buy and shoot your tank! Pm me and we can do it on a weeknight.

I think the difference really comes down to budget and what you are going to use the camera for. Using it strictly for coral photography is pretty gangster also.

If money is no object. Full frame all day everyday!

It took me forever to chime in. I stumbled on this build by accident. Looking GREAT! Thanks for sharing.

btw.....love The Captain......no explanation from you necessary. I'm thinking The Captain will show up again when water is introduced into the system. it would be rude not to share the experience with him.

I wonder why it took you so long to chime in on a Deeznutz thread ???

With that said, thanks for the compliments. I lied about The Captain showing up. He actually lives here under the island and always looking to come out and play

When this tank is up and running, we will all be here sharing our stories with The Cap. This I can guarantee!

Excellent! ;)

As for not posting to a "Deeznutz1" thread earlier....apologies. I can't be everywhere at once......Or can I? ;)

Good luck. Looking forward to the sweet, sweet, eyecandy that's bound to follow. Cheers.

Thank you for following. This is my first shallow tank besides my frag tank which is 14 tall. I tell yah, biggest reason for me to go with a 18" tall tank is because I hate getting my arms wet pass the elbow. I guess its some kind of OCD lol.
Please continue to follow as things are starting to get good :)

You could always tell here that the tank will be so much quieter if the sump was in the basement. PLus the odds of a flood and ruining the floors are significantly reduced with a basement sump :) PLus you won't have to make a mess around the fish tank every time you do a water change.
Let me know how that goes over :)

so much for that reasoning ..dont have a basement I was actually going to use a room under the stairs for my fish room its a decent size land next to it is a powder room it would have been perfect to run the plumbing for ro and drain and also add a sink ...but to late the boss lady to over that room already. .but she did allow me to set up as much tank as I want in the garage so I am slowly gathering equipment for the garage build also..

Small update, no pics though.

So I had a bit of spare time this week and decided that I need to mud and tape this darn fish room before I can move forward. Let it be known that I'm no mudder/taper person. I hate it!

I got two coats of mud on and I finished sanding the final coat. Looks pretty good for an amateur job, but hey, it's only a fish room.

The floor in this fish room is very uneven so I'm debating if I should tile it or not. It's going to push the build back a week or so and add to the cost of the never ending fish room lol.

So I'll have to go check out some tile this weekend and look for some cheap tiles. Then, I'll have to convince the wife why I need to tile the floor. lol.
At this point I might as well run a floor drain in there as well. But that's a lot of work.
