Deeznutz Hd 120 Shallow rimless (Pics)

Update time!!!

Hey y'all, it's been a while since I've updated my thread. So I thought I'd get everyone up to date.

A few days ago I was doing my usually frag tank check up and I noticed the water was very cloudy. I took a closer look and found my fish were extremely stress as well as my corals. So I did some water test. My Alk was sitting 12.4 I generally keep it at 8.0-8.5.

I just recently got my GHL doser back online. I've never had it over dose before. But I guess it has a mind of it's own. I recently replaced the screen as well.

So I panicked :uhoh3:

I thought to myself "what should I do?" Should I wait it out and hope for the best? Should I perform a large water change? Or should I move everyone into the new tank?

I finally recapped my effort to get the new tank cycled quickly. I realized that I picked too much live rock from my frag tank while removing the skimmer too early. That combined with the overdosing of my GHL doser justified my efforts to move the rest of the family over. :wildone:

So after a few hours of up and down, back and forth. I got everything transferred over. It's a mess in the tank as I didn't have time to mount, glue and position corals in their final resting points.

I don't have my lights or power head yet, but I needed to make sure their needs were met. So I put in a Korilia power head and put my ATI sun power over the tank with wood blocks, notch to the glass so they don't slip.

I'm quite pleased with the coverage the ATI sun power provides. If it were not for the new lights that are coming, the ATI sun power would have been more then adequate.

Well with that said, on with the pics! (not my best efforts, I'm tired LOL)

I have to say that I'm really happy with the tank so far. It's weird having a display tank again. I'm so happy!!!
My new lights and the rest of my equipment should be here by the end of the week. I'm looking forward to this package and it couldn't get here any sooner. It's like Christmas in the middle of August lol.

My next instalments will make this tank complete finally. I just have to make sure the install on the equipment is nice and clean!

Until then"¦

Update time!

So its time for an update. The tank is doing well. She's just starting to get setting in and I'm seeing diatoms on the sand bed and the glass is full of bugs! I'm expecting an algae bloom in the next few weeks. I just hope it doesn't last too long. That's pretty much where the tank sits right about now.

So enough with the tank, lets just let her sit and do her thing and lets talk about some more interesting news in the Deeznutz build. Lets talk equipment!

I came home from work on Tuesday to find a package awaiting me. So I looked inside and found some goodies, actually a whole crap load of goodies :)
Looks like Christmas has come early for this little chap

Here's a group shot :)

I've EcoTech my tank! Here's a list of the goodies.

4 x Radion XR15w Pros
4 x RMS
2 x MP40 ESW
1 x Reef Link
1 x Battery Back Up
1 x Coral Glue
and a Tee Shirt :)

The new RMS fixtures are very cleaning looking and feels nice to the touch. They are easy to assemble, attach to tank and adjust. The wire channel is a nice little touch as well.

Here's the Reef Link, I can't wait to have wireless access to my lighting and pumps.

This is a huge bottle of coral glue! I can't wait to use it.

Here's another group shoot of all the equipment unpacked and ready to be installed. I love the look and feel of the XR15 Pros mounted on the RMS.
I've always been a fan of ceiling hung fixtures. But the RMS makes installing the light a breeze and the simplicity works well with our vision.

I'll post pics of the tank when I get everything installed this weekend! I have to find a wire management system to clean up all the wires.

Until then my friends

Not going to lie, kinda bummed. I thought this tank was going to be t5 lit.

A ati powermodule hybrid would have been awesome.

Wow that glue is the size of the mp-40's

Yes it is, well worth the money. Lots of glue!

It's coming along nicely, very clean look.

Thanks, it's all coming together ;)

Sweet progress, hook 'em up!

Will do sir!

Why did you go with 4 xr15 ??? 2 xr30 g3 pro weren't enough ??

The reasoning for the the 4 XR15 is, if you look at the tank it can be divided into 4 18x18 cubes. PLus, if i were to do Xr30's I would need 3 to cover the 7' length and I'd have to figure out how to mount the middle one since the overflow box is there.

Not going to lie, kinda bummed. I thought this tank was going to be t5 lit.

I'm sorry to hear you're bummed on the lighting selections. But the Hybrid is too powerful for this size tank. Plus the coverage wouldn't have been a good. As you can see with my 60" 4 bulb sun power. I wanted to see what LED can do. So far I'm impressed with the initial coloration and coverage. Very nice with the RMS mount. Clean and to the point.

You might change your mind after seeing this set up.

thanks for your input.

Wow man, gorgeous home, family and build! thanks for sharing!

NO... thank you for the compliments. I'm very blessed. Thanks for following!

Really nice build and beautiful home!

Thank you so much!

Looks great my friend I am jealous my tank is still dry lol.

Thanks man, you will be wet soon enough :)

Pictures of the lighting to come soon!

Update time!

Hey all, so it's time for another quick update. I've had a chance to play around with the EcoTech Radion XR15 pros. These lights combined with the Reef link and RMS mounts are pretty hard to beat. The program is pretty easy to navigate after you familiarize yourself with it. I had to update the firmware of all the lights, MP40's and Reeflink before I could start to really play. I'm only using presets and have started to acclimate my corals to the light with the auto function.

I'd like to get a bit more advanced with the lights (custom colour for best growth etc) and wanted to know where I can find this info? Any direction would be great!

On to the pics!
