digging my chromes school

I have a 90g sps tank, also looking for that killer fish to add some color to the display. Overlooked the basic brilliant effect of a school of chromis in the reef!
Now my favorite display fish (es)! So far have had for 2 months, a school of 12, they have not picked each off yet, I do have an aggressive male lyre tail anthia who keeps them on their toes and rounded up which may be helping keep the school intact... this is a neat (crappy quality) shot of the school in a large forest fire montipora"¦ thought I would share"¦

Schools of chromis are very cool IMO I just hope you have better luck then I have and others. I started with 25 ended up taking 12 back to the LFS about 8 months later

Good luck, but it can't really be called success until they've been cooperating for at least a year. That's about how long it seems to take for them to whittle themselves down a bit, in most cases I've read that didn't work out.

I have never had the touch when it comes to chromis, and given their predisposition to uronema, I don't imagine I'll be working on that lack of touch anytime soon. I do think, though, fish that tend to fight amongst themselves can be 'managed' better in an active tank.

Yes--that's why I took the shot now--I am enjoying them while they last, I'm not usually 'lucky' with these matters!
