my last fixture i made was with bridgelux leds 3w. is cree leds really that much better i can make a bigger fixture with the bridgelux for cheaper. just trying to justify the price of the crees are they really that much better does anyone know or seen a difference im happy with the fixtuure i have now just want to add more leds.

I've never used the Bridgelux before, but I think Der_Wille knows about them.

I would start by comparing the original cost of LEDs, lumens per watt of power, and other stats. Do the Bridgelux LEDs have as many options for different blues or whites? Everyone seems to go with the CREEs, and they are readily available, so that is what I went with.

so far i have read that the cree are way brighter so i think im going to go with the dimable cree and hope that it gives me the coloring im looking for

You can find the specs for the CREE LEDs on the rapidled.com website. I'm not sure where to find all the Bridgelux specs though.

im trying to get like a 14k to 16 k look to my tank so now i need to figure out how many whites and how many royal blues to use. with my leds i have i used equel amounts of of white and blue and it looks perfect

You need to know the model and bin of LED plus the drive current before you can accurately pick a ratio.

Bridgelux vs Cree - you get what you pay for, end of story.
