Do you worry about QT with Phx LFS?

Which store would you trust their fish by not having to QT their stock? Aqua touch? Ocean floor? Pet Kona? Any others? All of the above? None of the above?

Just curious how some of the more experienced reefers handle introducing new livestock In their tank.

I always do business with Saltwater Junkies out in Peoria. I've never QT anything.. everything has always been healthy and thriving. I've also seen them feed reef stew (live food) to their fish, which may explain why the fish are always healthy.

EDIT: before SWJ opened, I used to go to Aqua Touch.. very healthy livestock also. They also have an offsite QT facility to make sure livestock is always healthy.

I feel all fish should be quarantined no matter from your best friend or the local fish store when moving fish add stress and that's when things can go bad

All fish get QT'd. Doesn't matter where they come from; all are treated equally from me.

Same here. Are there some LFS thst I believe provide me with a better "base fish" sure. It's still getting quarantined though!

Edit: I should say, other than one fish that was quarantined at the store in its own system with meds of my choice.

Agreed, trust no one. Always quarantine. If you don't its pretty much a matter of "if" not "when" disaster will strike. Murphy's law says it will be after you have added $1000 worth of fish and can't get them out before the Brook or Velvet kills them off in 24 hours. i have seen a dead fish with obvious signs of infection in just about EVERY LFS in this town that I have been to.

The only stores that do any qt are aquatouch and LE corals. Aquatouch does observation only, and LE corals does treat for some issues, but neither are sufficient qt programs to remove risk of design, just a reduction in probability

all fish and SPS get quarantined and treated

fish QT treated with chloroquine phosphate x 30 days

SPS QT and dipped in Bayer weed killer once a week x 3
