dvanacker's 200g SPS tank......

What a lovely collection of super sexy corals, all of them look in tip top condition, the colours are just about as good as it will ever get.

Well done and keep up the good work. :spin1:

Beautiful collection!
Your pics are amazing.
Your tank and pics just keep getting better all the time.
Well done.

Just got my daily creep of your tank! Im pretty sure I need to adjust the RGB on my monitor, there is no way those colours are real!!!!! jk :)

Beautiful collection of corals ya have and its really cool ur able to identify and name them, that's a big plus.

Corals in your tank are doing well and coloured up beautifully.

And ur photography skills are brilliant, execellent photos.
Could you tell me what camera you are using and what lens are ya using to take those awesome macro shots.

I am on the look out for a new camera to take photos when I start adding corals to my tank. My tank up snd running just over a month now and I'm documenting it on my thread. But I really need to hone my photography skills and try to take better photos.

Thanks for sharing ur tank on here.

thanks eveyone.....it means a lot to get praise from other exceptional reefers! Only reefers and those that love SPS can REALLY appreciate an SPS tank.

Thanks.....I've been an SPS nut for quite a few years now and when you look at as many pictures as I have you start to learn the names..:)

My camera is an Olympus E510 and just the stock lense. Its just a cheap bottom of the line SLR. I wouldst recommend it though. It takes decent pictures but one thing I hate is that it has no focus assist beam, instead it strobes the flash which is really annoying. This doesn't affect taking pictures of the tank (never use flash when taking pics of the tank) but my family sometimes acts like they are having seizures when the flash starts strobing. Also less lense choices than cannon or nikon..oh and no HD video on my camera.

yes love seeing the pics you have shot....very cool, very very cool :D

If you ask me, you have proven once and again its not the camera that matters but the person behind it and the skill....and u have the skill to shoot :uzi:

I have just started stocking my corals...LPS for now...and once my tank gets more mature its gonna get dominated by SPS...

I wanna do justice to the beauty of the corals...and to capture that beauty i will need a new camera :D so i am hunting for one, but i am planning to get something compact, something i can use for my travels as well as for decent reef pics...

The current pics i have on my thread are not that great at all....i need to improve...first a better camera and second my skill :D

jus had to highlight this one again, cuz who doesnt appreciate an awesome lookin peice of an awesome coral :) really sweet!

Hey D, just wanted to pass on that bristle tooth file fish are the truth for aptasia destruction. AND... They are Hardy. Just remember to get the little bugger out once he does his job, his taste can turn to scrumptious looking polyps... mine went to the sump and is for hire. LOL. Funniest thing though... I never saw him touch them, but in two weeks time....poof!

Fantastic tank and awesome corals!
In your experience do you feel GFO necessary to keep PO4 in check using pellets?
How much pellets and GFO are you using?
Alessandro

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I will try to get some more pics soon.

Dang how'd you get your undatas polyps to get green like that mine are like a white color?

If you look at pictures of the tyree undata under the right circumstances the body will go green and the polyps green/white. It has very similar polyps to the supernatural cap....although the supernatural cap polyps might be a touch greener.

I'm not sure if the GFO is needed but I only use 1 cup a month ...just in case. I use 1000ml of pha biopellets as well.

looking good man - i I go SW with my 50G starphire I may need to pay you a visit...
Of course you are more than welcome Dave. You could get back a few of your old corals.

I moved this one up and I gotta tell you, it is just blowing me away. Crazy....has no idea what colour it wants to be .....purple, pink, blue and green. It's a wild coral that RTN'd on me like 3 or more years ago. I saved the base and it was a brown rock for about 2yrs and I almost threw it out multiple times. boy Im glad I didnt. Anyway it was just blue when I bought it but it sure has morphed. I've tried a few names but I think I like Northern Delight. :)

Sorry I meant to take more but I only got this one picture before the lights went out.
