Ed, went to Pro Coral today! Was amazed. Great place. I decided to build a canopy with ATI T5s and KZ T5s, along with some LED moonlights. Should be good. Thanks again..

Remember to let us know when you start your build thread

Looks good Ed. The brass color had me really concerned for a minute. I thought it was actual brass pipe.

True - that's the only color I didn't like. Should have gone with HOT PINK or something cool like that :rolleye1:

But it sure get people to ask questions !! :D

Ed, your sump area looks like the 3D Pipes screen saver from Windows! And it is soooo cool.

As usual Ed, your prcision beggars belief!

This is the first time that I've seen 'engineering' style hydraulic colour coding in the hobby ... great idea! Gives it a kind of 'Das Haus' feel.

Tone :)

Thanks Tone - actually all the pipes in the hotel are color coded for easy identification so I guess I've been working in hotels for too long now... :eek2:

Your plumbing reminds me of arteries, veins, nerves and lymp vessels :D

Maybe somebody on here knows what I mean ;)

I know what you mean....mmmm....you must been watching too many horrors movies

PLUMBING INSIDE TANK

PLUMBING INSIDE TANK

OK, this is the easy part… first my DYI Hofer Gurgle Buster for my overflow

HoferGurgleBuster01.jpg

HoferGurgleBuster02.jpg

Used this style of overflow in my previous set-up and very please with it.

TIPS: For those thinking of drilling PVC pipes, first stick a piece of paper masking tape over the pipes and then drill. This will prevent the drill bit from sliding off the slippery rounded PVC pipe and hurt yourself…..

Then my return from my Chiller….

Plumbing23.jpg

Plumbing24.jpg

I have drill two holes (can’t be seen as it’s facing inside the overflow) for anti siphon for blackout of electricity…

And the rest is my returns from CL, which is split into 2 direction….

Plumbing31.jpg

Plumbing32.jpg

Plumbing33.jpg

Plumbing34.jpg

Will hide those CL returns in my aquascape ….

And this is my CL return to my Hammerhead …

Plumbing21.jpg

I don’t like the strainer cup but can’t find anything better so will used it temporary until I can find something else available locally… might fix a bird netting inside to prevent snails and sand to go inside my CL and cause potential damage to my OM drum.

Have order 4 x Omi flex Dual Nozzle to be used and until that arrive, will temporary used those 45 degree

Now that the plumbing is 100% completed yesterday, will start working on the wiring over the weekend.

Oh good, glad to see you taking your time.

Looks great. So China takes a month off for New Years, and now you work as fast as humanly possible to not waste a day of those 11 months, right? ;)

The masking tape trick is a good one.

Don't forget I manage a team of 30 engineers consisting of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc in the hotel as well :D

Just have to create fun projects for them to do and we call it TEAM BUILDING

Ed, be sure to publish your aquascaping design framework ... y'know that S-shaped layout 'balance' diagram.

I liked those little pvc frames that you made on the last tank so much that I've set myself a goal to redo all of my structures excatly the same way ... one is done already!

Getting the right layout shape from the top view is the next step for me before embarking on the rest of the structures.

I'm counting on you, Ed! :)

Glad you like my previous aquascape.... when are u going to redo yours??

As for my this new tank - honestly not sure yet how I'm going to scape it as it's low and wide?? PVC frame Pillars might not work so I will need to think of something!!

And to make matters more challenging, I need to scape it for a 4 side all around view and also a top view so that's a total of 5 side view that have to look artistically pleasing!!

WIRING….

WIRING….

Now that the plumbing is done, got my guys to installed lightings under my stand and also started to run wirings for my power center.

My cabinet light switch is activated by

Wiring01.jpg

This is secure along all the 8 doors and wired all in parallel so any open door will automatically activated the lights under the cabinet.

I add on a wooden divider to section off under the stand between the CL pump, plumbing and switches…

All my plugs will have front access and away from any possible water splash, should I ever need to remove my plumbing of my CL for service…

My home-style DJ Power Center switches…. made a few extras too

Wiring02.jpg

For those interested, I used this to connect to the back of those light switches. Save me a lot of time.

Wiring06.jpg

After the entire front plugs are installed, I started to put the wirings together to connect to the light switches…

Wiring03.jpg

Wiring05.jpg

This is what you get once completed…

Wiring04.jpg

And the front view…

Wiring08.jpg

In the design of the stand, there is a small gap to run those wirings through and I also made two holes on the bottom of the switch panel where I can run all wires through neatly without it hanging everywhere as I wanted the engine room of the whole set-up to be part of the talking point as well lol

Wiring14.jpg

Wiring15.jpg

(hey…. in a work of ART, attention to details is a must)

:D

And my Profilux 6 plug point extension. I actually have 2 sets of this but will be using only one extension at this moment, with the other one as spare…

LED04.jpg

Also not forgetting a space for my Profilux controller…

Wiring09.jpg

And for safety….

Wiring10.jpg

This is what it should look like when competed. I’ve not place back the plug face but you get the picture….

Wiring07.jpg

And with the plug face completed with some plugs in used to get a better idea of the overall Power Center...

Wiring13.jpg

Next is to test if my wiring works, as it should!!
