Your setup looks beautiful Ed! Can't wait to see what you will do with the aquascape :)

Leonardo

Thanks Leo, apart from my micro bubbles issue, no more leaks found so far so will let it run for another day and if all goes well will start working on the scape...!!

When are you going to get your scape done??

Suspect the seal in the hammerhead has sprung a leak…..didn’t notice these rust stain before??

I’ve e-mail the pictures to my distributor in Singapore yesterday and they confirm it’s a seal leak so they are sending me the replacement seal!!

Hopefully once the leak seal is replaced, the pump will not vibrate as much and also the micro bubbles will disappear??

Apart from that no more leaks from the plumbing were found so will let it run another night and if all goes well, will work on my scape on Sun morning.

STAY TUNE………

Ed, is that rust? For such a new pump is a worry ... neither my Hammerhead nor Barracuda have this. Their sump seals did leak slightly at first but came good with a round of tightening up the bolts. Most of the problem I had with them was the drain plug leaking :) I hope that this gets fixed for you!

Tone :)

The information about how to change the seals is on my site, Ed. Sequence points people there, believe it or not. ;)

Yup - that's a little rust and a mixture of salt creep. Good thing it's outside or it will be an issue :p

This pump was used in my old system for about a year.

From what I troubleshoot with my distributor yesterday, there could be a couple of possibilities??

Possibility 1:
I think what happen was that I stop using the pump for these few months and somehow the inside of the seal became loose and causes a leak??

Possibility II:
Or it could be a leak from day 1 (small) and just gets bigger as days/ months goes by and in the past there was some salt creep around it, you don't notice the leak until the pump is clean and reused??

Whatever it is, both the seal in there will have to be replace. They are checking if they have seals in stock and hopefully replacement seals will be send to me within a week.

No - the pump was used in my previous tank as my return pump!!
How long do you expect this to set you back

Set me back???? NO WAY - still going full steam ahead!!

It's only the CL pump so no issues as I still got the return and 3 steams for flow in there!! :D

Can still up the water and get it to cycle !!

However on the bright side, the replacement seal should be here next week (hopefully)

:p

Nothing top secret here - remember I'm Ed (not Tim  )

Will let it run for one more day and if all goes well will kick off the scape tomorrow :D

AQUASCAPING

AQUASCAPING

Work up this morning with excitement, as today is the day I start working on my aquascape…

Quickly eat a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast and started to check the plumbing, tank, sump for any sign of water leak as last night I place some tissue paper wrapped around suspicious areas.

No more leaks were found (hurrrrrey….. doing the victory dance here) so I drained the tank and started my preparation for the exciting task ahead. Not sure what I need so I have everything on standby…..

Everyone makes different preparation when it comes to aquascape and here’s mine…

Not sure what I will use at this moment so I prepared for every possibility.

And to share with you all my most important tool for success….
