Wow! That thing spins!

dantimdad

Yes, it spins and it´s amazing how simple the hole thing works...
I would like to invite him to participate Reefcentral, but unfotunately he doesn´t speak any english, I have him participating on a Brazilian forum that i also post, www.ipaq.org.br he has mora than 40 years on the hobby, a lot to share and very good ideais even today, he´s developing a new skimmer/impeller/volute tha draws almost 2000l/h of air on a pump that normaly draws 3000l/h of water.

Ed, i really liked how the "Bathroom Water Station" works, pretty good work!

Too bad I can't read Brazillian so I guess his secret is safe from me :)

But for sure would like to find out how he does his plumbing and of course how he makes that thing spin????

Mmmm....project for the future perhaps??

Welll.... :rolleye1: some ideas here and there but nothing solid yet. I want to work on the floating top and a couple of other stuff first and once my head is clear, I will start to think more about it!!

Need to get some inspiration...

Ahh ok. what do you have planned for the floating top? i hope you didnt go over that already and i missed. Sorry if your repeating!

Well, most probably like the rendering - just need to figure out the easiest way to get this done as my light frame is already done and don't feel like redoing the whole frame, wires, etc :p

In case you missed the rendering....

But without the fan vent as I will leave the top expose and installed fans on top instead

Ed, do you have any full tank shots of your old tank? Id really like to see what zeovit did with your sps.

Are you following the 1 liter of zeovit stones per 100g? Or are you doing more?

Also from your experience, do your sps grow faster from zeovit? Or is it mainly color thats the only big difference?

Im on my 1st week of zeovit and im amazed at the polyp extension at night on my sps especially when i pump the zeo reactor.

BTW im loving the red stand and canopy!!!

Hi Reefer08,

You can go the the 1st page of this thread, where I got the link to my old build thread... plenty of pictures there but be warn, it's a huge thread with a couple of split :D

I follow the 1 liter of zeovit stones per 100g guideline and keep 10% old stone each time I exchange out with new stones every 6 weeks.

As for growth, I do notice the SPS tips splits more heads compare to before I was into this zeo thingy but didn't keep the old tank long enough to notice if growth was comparably faster

:p

UPDATES – DAY 10 CYCLE WITH ZEOVIT

UPDATES â€"œ DAY 10 CYCLE WITH ZEOVIT

“HAPPY LABOUR DAY GUYS!!”

OK, today is DAY 10 and according to ‘ZEOvit 14 Day Cycle Guideline’, I’m supposed to be able to add some clean-up crew and maybe 1-2 fishes (1-2 fishes per 200L) and some hardy corals…

So did water param check and cycle looking very good…

• Temperature â€"œ 25.5 degree C (light on)
• Salinity Gravity â€"œ 35ppt (Calibrated refractometer - 53ms Pinpoint Solution)
• NO3 â€"œ 2 (Salifert Test kit)
• PO4 â€"œ 0.08 (D&D Test kit)
• dKH â€"œ 8 (API test kit)
• dKH â€"œ 8.5 (Elos test kit)
• Ca â€"œ 420 (Salifert test kit)
• Ca â€"œ 430 (Elos test kit)
• Mg â€"œ 1320 (Salifert test kit)
• Mg â€"œ 1320 (Elos test kit)
• Potassium â€"œ390 to 400 range (Kz Test kit)

So I added in my ZeoCarbon: 0.7L (in mash bag) in the designated sump area and off to the LFS for some cleaning crews…

Also drop by my friend’s place to frag off a section of his huge Orange montie caps from his tank and glue them in place to see how they do

Coral23.jpg

Hydnophora or Pavona? What do you guys think?
Coral01.jpg

Coral02.jpg

One local test Acro…
Coral03.jpg

And 2 of this unknown SPS??
Coral04.jpg

Coral11.jpg

Anyone got any ID for this 2 piece?? The color is sky blue and does not seem to have any PE of any sort as the texture is sort of smooth. Maybe it’s some sort of Porites??

I manage to ‘hold’ myself off from getting any fishes yet (I’m so proud of myself) as I want the pods to grow and multiply more in numbers first before adding any…..!!

Let’s see how long I can hold this off……

Today I also started dosing 1 teaspoon ZeoZym (mixed in SW for 30min) and also started to run carbon in the sump area.

Will dose Zeozym twice weekly to keep my sand bed clean and exchange out the carbon monthly to keep those water crystal clear.
