Well, I'm not good at this usually. I'll recognize a shape and put a name to it, but sometimes have them wrong.

#7 is gorgeous. I'm not sure. Very delicate and pretty - maybe A. granulosa like you suggested.
#8 is another favorite of mine. I had one once, but it didn't live longer than six weeks in my tank. I was sorry to see it RTN away.
#9, #10 - sorry, doesn't ring a bell yet.
#11 - Green Slimer, aka A. yongei would be my guess.

That Pocillopora will fuzzy out in a couple of days, and then you'll see lots of pink color.

Thanks Marc - someone told me...

#8 could be A. rosaria?
#9 could be A. samoensis?
#10 could be A. sarmentosa?

Thanks for #11 ID. The general guess from what I can gather is also A. yongei

TUNZE MULTI CONTROLLER HOOK UP!!

TUNZE MULTI CONTROLLER HOOK UP!!

Finally got time to hook up my multi-controller last night….

I must say it’s a lot easier to make minor adjustment to the flow pattern, etc with a separate controller rather than booting up my laptop each time. Twisting knobs sure beats imputing percentage setting onto your laptop!! Hahahaha

TunzeMultiController.jpg

Now I can play with my both the Vortech and Tunze Controllers and find a good balance of flow pattern I like :p

Another problem arises…
While moving my wavebox controller to the cabinet door, somehow it decided to stops working!! I un-plug and re-plug in the driver and it works for a few minutes and then stops again?? The driver seems to be extremely hot to touch and when it cools down, it works again but for a good 10 min or so only! I suspect it’s a faulty driver but not sure…

I post in the Tunze forum so hopefully Roger can trouble shoot for me.

Meanwhile…..

Took the chance to give my other Stream a good cleaning also

Reassemble as good as new…..

Broken 6201 Update

Broken 6201 Update

Broken 6201 Update:

My other broken Stream, which I send back to my distributor, is still not back. They tested it and confirm something is not working right so will have to send to Germany for repair and this could take months??

Mmm might need to get another one to used for the time being?? :eek2: Maybe I can find a 2nd hand 6101 somewhere in China or wait for the new Stream 6105 to hit this part of the world, hopefully in a month or two time

After much debating with myself, I think I will wait it out as I should have sufficient flow with my 1 x Stream 6201, wavebox and 2 x Gen2 Vortech

NEW TANK MATE!

NEW TANK MATE!

The all-time favorite Pygmy Angel family â€"œ Flame Pygmy Angel.

FlameAngel.jpg

A local reefer have her in his tank for a few months but ban her to the sump as she was being bullied by another Angel which is already establish in the tank so finally decided to sell her to me!!

Hopefully she will do well in my tank and play nicely with the others!! I’m happy as I had one before but lost it in my ‘Battle of the Ich’ :blown:

OK, not the Peppermint Pygmy Angel but this deep-water beauty is also a rarity in our hobby, at least in this part of the world IMO

Golden Angel
GoldenAngel01.jpg

Very shy and keep to the caves and shadows most of the time and comes out only during feeding time. Got it from another reefer who has had her for 4 months before deciding to tear down his tank and already eating and hopefully acclimatized to our tank depth. :lol2:

I have never seen it anywhere in the many LFS I frequent around Asia in my 10 years of reefing so I was surprise when one of the local reefers told me about the availability of this fish in his tank and it’s up for sale… Wow

Both are already picking on LR and my Flame angel is busy checking out the tank!

SORRY GUYS…..not very good picture of either as it’s so difficult to take fish pictures as they just move too fast for my poor camera skill!!

Now I want to source for another one or two Pygmy Angel (possible less common and rare species) to complete my list of collection from this pygmy Angel family - any suggestion??

And while I was taking the picture of my new family additions, one of my Purple firefish decided to check me out

I have a flame angel as well and she does great in my tank, doesn't bother anyone and fine with the corals. She will sometimes chase a anthias or two but after a minute they chase her right back. Good score!

Thanks thirschmann - used to have one before and was also a model citizen so hopefully this one will behave.

Any experience on Golden Angel??

No respond from Roger, (guess he must be busy) so today I decided to dismantle the wavebox and packed it and shipped back to my distributor...

Can't believe my rotten luck having 2 stream falls apart within weeks of each other :mad2:

nope, no golden angel experience. Sorry, I'm no help there.

Sucks about the tunzes, They have always been very solid for me but as I mentioned earlier in your thread one just crapped out on me as well. If I were you I'd wait for the Stream 2's, I have one of the fixed flow ones and they are pretty nice, I really like the mounting bracket as you can point in any direction you want.

Yeah, I know the new Streams are super nice but it's just suck as I'm now down to 1 stream 6201 and 2 x Vortech

sorry about the pumps ed

Love the angels I have a flame too, the golden is only semi rare here but a nice fish nonetheless.

TDS Result from Tap:

TDS Result from RO Unit with new membrane:
TDSResultRONew.jpg

My TDS results from my RO output have come down from previous 39ppm…. Can’t seem to get it lower than 6ppm thou’ Hope this will not mean my DI resin will be exhaust a lot faster LOL

TDS Result from DI Unit:
TDSResultDI12Sept.jpg

But what’s important is after going through my DI, the result is zero!

Will test this weekly for the initial 1 month to see if there is any problems with the unit/ filters/ set-up and then maybe will test it bi-monthly only :p

All there is left now for me is to release my existing 200L RO water from my storage container and refill with new DI water!!

I will continue to use the 200L of SW, which is prepared already in storage, and slowly change over with DI water with my weekly WC….

Interestingly enough my tap water is in the mid 40's to low 50's and I have 0 TDS after the membrane and before the DI's. I use Spectra Pure ZetaZorb .2 micron sediment filter, 5 micron carbon block, 1 micron carbon block, .5 micron carbon block, Dow Filmetec membrane, MaxCap DI cartridge, and a SilicaBuster DI cartridge.

I know mine isn't really 0 TDS after the membrane but the monitor doesn't read into the decimal places so it's probably .9 or lower. But yours being new should achieve something better 'n 85% I would imagine.

Of course 0 TDS for product water is the goal but a better membrane would allow the DI cartridges to last longer.

That's why I was surprise on the high TDS results after the membrane as I'm using a 5-stage RO unit. Not sure if I didn't flush out the old water inside the filters when I test :rolleye1: Anyway, will test this again over the weekend and see if the TDS has improved (after the membrane) after this few weeks of used.

SOFTIES AND FISHES

SOFTIES AND FISHES

Got a called from my LFS that a shipment of softies and LPS has arrived….

Not planning on any softies but went to have a look anyway and came back with those :crazy1:

Pink Cauliflower - don't know the exact name
Cauliflower02.jpg

Cauliflower03.jpg

The color is absolutely amazing. Hope it can strive in my ULNS

And got myself a mushroom rock
MushroomRock.jpg

I ban my Tuxedo urchin to my sump, as I don’t want him eating my new mushroom rock

Some Blue Pulsing Xenia. The base and tip of the Xenia gives out a bluish glow. I think the 2nd picture show the blue tip much better and you can just about see the bluish base.

Green Hammer
Hammer-Green.jpg

Nothing special but always wanted to have back my hammer since my last hammer was dinner for my Emperor. Also this coral was one of the reasons why I got into this EXPENSIVE hobby in the first place :hmm4:

To complete my list of Euphyllia family, I’m looking to get back my neon Green Frogspawn, which was an expensive dinner from my Regal I used to keep in my old tank :mad2:

And the prize find today…..

Green Toadstool Leather
GreenLeather.jpg

I’ve never seen a neon green toadstool before!! It’s always brown or yellow…. the toadstool glows like it’s nuclear reactive hahaha

Mmmmm…. wondering what the stem and polys will look like??? Can’t wait for it to open up!
