Nice additions Ed. You are pretty daring when it comes to buying fish, especially with a tank full of SPS. Don't mean to be a wet blanket, but that Pink Cauliflower will do fine for a while before wasting away. Their condition can deteriorate pretty fast too. Being deflated doesn't always mean its not healthy just as being fully inflated does not always mean that it is.

ps: When do we get a FTS??

Thanks - I always wanted to try butterflies in a reef but could never get a healthy species. As for them in the tank, there is more and more people trying and IMO the risk is the same as putting angels in the tank :D

Meanwhile, feeding them plenty and keeping a CLOSE EYE on them :p Hopefully I won't have to drain the tank to catch then out one day :rolleye1:

XENIA IN SUMP

XENIA IN SUMP

After hearing so many horror stories on Xenia out of control and the advice of many with Xenia, I decided to move my Xenia into my sump tank temporary while I find it a home :eek2:

More cluster acropora colonies from South China Sea last night…. Not very pretty but these Acros came in dirt cheap but my LFS ‘force’ me to take the whole shipment â€"œ well for the price I paid, I can’t complain!!

The first 2 clusters have potential IMO but the rest only average…. :p

Corals are mostly brown out with slight colors on the tip so let’s see what my Zeovit can do to improved their colors after a couple of months…

Will start tweaking my CR to cope with the add Ca/ Mg needs and test daily the next few days…

Sorry about the diatom still on my sand but it’s getting better :p Diatom was already gone and came back this few weeks ever since I installed my Vortech. I think it could be my Vortech blowing my sand around and cause this diatom outbreak.

Note To Self - Must move vortech higher up the tank

WRASSE DIDN’T MAKE IT ….

WRASSE DIDN’T MAKE IT ….

This morning on the way to work, I took a quick look at the tank and found my Cortz Rainbow wrasse lying on the sand bed?? From his colors, I would guess he just died maybe about an hour ago…

Don’t know what happen, as he was his usual self last night, swimming and eating and no sign of any disease or stress!!

Water params are all fine and other fishes doing well

Meanwhile, my Golden Angel has gone back into my overflow?? He must love those sponges and copperpods that are growing in there !!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Keep an eye for any awkward behavior in your other fish for a while. How about putting a barrier of some sort to prevent the Golden angel from getting into your overflow. hat black eggcrate you have shout do the trick.

No, I don't quarantine my corals, just a 10 min dip in Coral RX....

MY Golden angel keep going into the wier from the 2 holes meant for my 6201 and wavebox (which is out of service at this moment) You're right, I should cover it with a black egg crate (which i have handy but just too lazy) :p

Oh yea...i forgot about the faulty Streams. Your idea make holes and hide the streams is brilliant... i wanted to copy it but found out that i didnt have enough space. Man..i can't wait to get the tank in...all the planning has really got me worked up!!

I know what's like Chris...but once it gets going, everything will fall in place pretty quickly.

My stream and wavey has gone to Germany and no news yet when I will get it back :(

Only flow in my tank is coming from my Vortech and 1 remaining 6201

Hopefully i get it done without encountering any problems along the way. Doubt that will be the case though. Mr Murphy always pulls a number on me when im getting started. Is the Vortech on full throttle?
With the added Stream and Wavemaker in the mix you must have some serious flow in that tank.

Yes, vortech is on full throttle... will readjust the flow pattern once my stream and wavey is back.

Actually thinking of adding another 2 gen2 stream 6105 when it's out in this part of the world for directional flow
