I'm using my old lights 3 x 250w MH with 2 Actics but problem is it's only for 1.5m length so both end of my tank is slightly dim. :(

WATER PARAMETER UPDATES….

Below is this week’s water parameters updates:

➢ Temperature â€"œ 25.9 degree C (light on)
➢ Salinity â€"œ 1.026
➢ Ph â€"œ 8.23 (Light off)
➢ NO3 â€"œ 0.5 (Salifert â€"œ went up from last two week 0.2)
➢ PO4 â€"œ 0 (Salifert â€"œuntraceable)
➢ PO4 â€"œ 0.045 (D&D PO4 â€"œ same as last two week)
➢ dKH â€"œ 10.5 (API test kit â€"œ change color between 10 & 11 drop â€"œ increase from last two week by 3 dKH)
➢ dKH â€"œ 11 (Elos test kit â€"œ increase from last two week by 3 dKH)
➢ Ca â€"œ 440 (Salifert test kit â€"œ increase from last two week)
➢ Ca â€"œ 430 (Elos test kit â€"œ increase from last two week 360)
➢ Mg â€"œ 1410 (Salifert test kit - increase from last two week)
➢ Mg â€"œ 1350 (Elos test kit â€"œ increase from last two week 1000)
➢ Potassium â€"œ380 (stable)

Did the Water testing before my WC. My PO4 still need to come down but at least it didn’t went up. That was my biggest concern as I left my tank to my driver as caretaker remembering my last trip bitter experience

My NO3 went up a little but not sure if it was from the recent spawning event or from 2 weeks no WC but my skimmer went crazy that night…..good old Deltec!! Took time to do a deep cleaning inside my skimmer body and I think it skim even better after….must do this more frequent. Water so far is crystal clear!!

Over the course of two weeks, my Ca and Mg has raised to a comfortable level with add dosing. However, little concern with my dKH as it’s too high for us Zeoheads?? Any idea on how to bring it down?? Add Soda water maybe?? OR should I simply leave it alone and try to bring it down slowly with weekly WC?? I will do a WC later and test tomorrow and see if this will help bring level down a little.

Also did my Zeolite exchange today…. Been soaking my Zeolite in RO/DI water for a week now with daily exchange. Time really flies when you’re having a good time or when you’re spending tons of $$ hahaha!!

Dosing will remain at this moment.

BARTER DEAL….

BARTER DEAL….

Return the masked rabbit back to the LFS as he was eating my mushrooms and they gave me the below as credits

RedBulleyesMushrooms.jpg

They figure since this rascal eats all my mushrooms, they will give me a mushroom rock as replacement…. Nice piece too as I have only seem Blue bulleyes mushroom before but never red!

Anyway, at the same time they were clearing their display tank and I brought back the below as well…….

Spotfin Hogfish Wrasse

Any idea what type??

Also got myself a Dragon Wrasse….could not get a picture as he dash straight for my subtract when he got into the tank… He is still a juv (about 2”) but as he grows, hopefully he will not move my corals around too much. I hope they don’t mind that I download a picture from www.liveaquaria.com for those who like to know what he looks like until I can get a shot of her.

Also got a Pink/ Blue-spotted Shrimp Goby…

As I place those new fishes into the tank, I suddenly realize I have not seen my Golden Angel for a few days now. Tried looking under rocks, overflow but he was nowhere to be found??

Wonder what happen??

SAD NEWS……

SAD NEWS……

Today morning before I left for work, found my remaining Pyramid butterfly lying on the side breathing hard and comes afternoon he was a goner. Don’t know what happen as he was eating and swimming well and no sign of any sickness of any sort.

Meanwhile…… Mr. Kleinii didn’t waste much time in finishing up my Pink Lobophyllia and Elegant coral :eek2: but so far show no interest in SPS PE :) (looks like no meaty LPS for me hahahaha)

Mr. Golden Masked on the other hand shows no interest in any LPS but occasionally still pecks on my SPS PE (getting much less compare to the initial first 2 weeks) but not enough to do any visible damage.

I’m feeding them twice a day so hopefully that’s enough!!

Will want to try to get the Pyramid again….!! Lately my mind have been cloudy with thoughts of a Tinker too…!! :mixed: Hope I’m not becoming a Butterfly addict!

EVIL MIND = EMPTY WALLET

Sorry to hear about your pyramid :(.

FWIW I had a Dragon wrasse for a long time and loved him! I got him pretty small, around 2.5" I'd say. As a juvenile their colors are particularly nice! As an adult I found them to become extremely aggressive though, and reminded me of a trigger as they love to move everything.

New acros look sweet!

Wow, Ed, that before and after shot is great. I think that one will be a great piece in a short time.

I agree that your dKH is a little high for Zeo. If you aren't seeing any problems, perhaps you should turn down your CA Rx and let the dKH fall on it's own.

Yeah, it's sad about both my Pyramids... still don't know what happen??

Did your Dragon wrasse cause a lot of grieve when he grows into an adult?? My Niger trigger so far been great and does not move rocks around (guess he likes it as it is) but now I'm worried about this new 'rockmover' :eek1:

MORE SALT ARRIVED

MORE SALT ARRIVED

Since I can’t get any RBS salt here, decided to stick with my TMPro, which has served me well in these few months…. (but I haven’t given up yet)

However, I’m still interested to try the new H2Ocean Salt by D&D. The params advertised seems great for us Zeoheads but been hearing rumors of Cynao and Diatoms outbreaks for some…!!

Anyone with experience out there with this salt since it’s been out for a few months already??

Meanwhile, my Dragon Wrasse is already out and about so just to share a couple of actual picture…

Ed, the tank is looking lovely! Cute little dragon wrasse. Will keep my fingers crossed for you he doesn't topple any of your stunning corals. Hope the lights don't take too long:(

Yeah, that's what I also fear once he grows up. Should that happen, will have to find a way to fish him out.....going to be a real challenge to fish out wrasse thou' :(

Sorry about your pyramid butterfly... wondering what could have happened... :(

your juvenile dragon wrasse is beautiful, but can be a mean one once adult!

Thanks Richard - yeah, I'm pretty bump with the sudden loss of my 2 Pyramids as I seem to have waited for them forever.

Wil be keeping a close eye on the dragon wrasse as he grows...so far you're the 4th person that tells me about him being mean :eek2:

Over the course of these cRaZy few weeks of adding corals and fishes, I only lost three frags (1 acro and 2 bird nest) to RTN but others seem to be settling in well.

Even the one piece of Acro, which I got with, the slight STN base seems to be recovering well. :D

You are shopping like crazy. It would really be best to give your tank some time to adjust to all the livestock, and watch your parameters very very closely.

Are you dipping new arrivals before they go in your reef?

I know.... checking params every 2 days now. All corals are dip in Coral Rx for 10 min before going into the display :)
