Ed,
I know i'ts too late now but IMO I dont think just dipping your corals for ten minutes is good enough. I've dipped my corals in everything you could think of and i still got AEFW's. Most of my corals were frags or very small colonies, but your putting wild colonies in your tank as well. I hope everything works out, but when i start a new tank someday exspecially like yours i will quarintine each peice of coral for at least a month; just to be sure. Good luck with the tank, great thread.

I've been skimming thru the thread. Great build!
Do you still use your modified wavebox extension? I think there was some confusion on what extension meant. I saw you received some Vortechs so maybe you don't use it anymore. I can explain it though if you want.

Wow, Ed, that before and after shot is great. I think that one will be a great piece in a short time.
I agree that your dKH is a little high for Zeo. If you aren't seeing any problems, perhaps you should turn down your CA Rx and let the dKH fall on it's own.

Well, actually it makes no difference on how much bigger you make the box. The actual wavebox "extension" is really just another wavebox in sync with your current one. The problem with making a bigger box is that the pump can still only pump out a certain amount of water. So, in reality if all you do is make the box larger you will just end up with more water in the box when the stream shuts off. What you would really have to do is increase the pump size as well. i.e. a 6200 instead of 6100
In simple terms, if you have a 1 gallon box and find that pulsing the box at 1 sec intervals displaces 1 gallon in and out of the box and all you do is make the box 2 gallons... all you have done is end up with 1 gallon left instead of 0. If you increase the pump you can now pump 2 gallons in 1 sec... bigger wave.

Nice Pics Ed!! I love all the sunset Milles, if that is indeed what they are. I see some subtle coloration differences but maybe they will become more pronounced. I now have 2 milles, a pink and a blue/purple...... but the blue one is turning more pink now...lol.

does your camera allow you to manually adjust the f/stop shutter speed and ISO? if so, you can get more of the coral in focus by using a smaller f/stop and decreasing the shuter speed or increasing the ISO (or both).

That's the camera I'm thinking about buying. A club member lent me his to take a few shots with the stock lens, and so far I'm not in love. However, it does take good pictures of fish for some reason. Corals, not so much.

The stock lens isn't good enough for close ups, and you have to be at least 12" away from the subject. You can zoom all the way in and still get it to focus, but not well enough. It seems you need a 105mm Macro lens to get better quality. The stock lens won't go below f/4.5, while I normally shoot in f/2.8 - some Macro lenses can go even lower.
I'm about to download today's pictures to see what came out.
